In the wake of the injuries from Monday night's game, the Chargers are looking outside to fortify their depth at guard, center or both. For now, the backup center is Tyronne Green, a rookie who has almost no experience at that position.
It seems highly unlikely that Chargers center Nick Hardwick (ankle sprain) will be at full speed this week. He was carted off the field Monday and required a protective boot. Coach Norv Turner said the injury isn't as bad as he initially believed.
