Why not,I am almost sure 75percent of the coaches in the NFL would have taken the same anyway.I mean it is terrible to lose to Washington and yes,5-3 would look wanderfull about now and was there for the takeing. But we are what we are.
Looking forward to the second hald of the season right now, finishing 6-2 will get us in a wildcard game and who knows, stranger things have happened .
I would much rather have started the year the way we did, than win and lose out and backdoor into the playoffs,Like we did last year.
We did beat Carolina in Carolina, and should have won in Washington on sunday.
But how in the world do you not make a simple 35 yard filedgoal?

Have the cowboys won 2 out of 3 yet? I'm just saying don't count your chickens before they hatch ...

... here's hoping for a win.

I said before the 3 game road trip that 2-1 and we would be alright. That does not make losing the game to Washington any easier considering we were 35 yards away from the win. That game is over and done Dallas needs put it behind them and take care of the cards this weekend.

what sucks is that the way we lost (shooting ourselves in the foot, not getting out of our own way, etc etc).... this isn't the first time this happens. It's a damn trend, which is very very discouraging as we approach the last half of the season

I said the week going into Carolina that I'd take 2 of 3 on this road trip. It's just the play of Romo firing everyone up and then losing to Wash. that makes it suck so bad.

Sure it's not bad to come away 2-1 if we take care of AZ. Problem is we very well could be 3-0 if we beat the Deadskins like we should have Sunday then AZ like we "should". It's how we lost that is sickening. But I do agree they've got to put it behind them and take care of business in AZ, cause Denny Green knows what he knows about Dallas. He knows that he knows what he knows. You know?

Games 1-3 we went 2-1
Games 3-5 we went 2-1
Games 5-7 we went 2-1

what? we're 6 - 3 thru 7 games???

I knew someone was gonna say this and should've addressed it, but got lazy..

He asked if we've ever won 2 out of 3 games. If you look at the season in 3 game increments, there's 3 times we've won 2 out of 3.

and all that matters is what we really are, which is 4-4

I should have been more specific too.

I'm talking about the three road game stretch this year and our opponents being:
Carolina
Washington
Arizona

Now, here's hoping to a W over Arizona and don't count your chickens until they hatch.

Geez, I thought it was obvious I was refering to the same 3 game stretch the thread was started about.

:shootme: for not stating the obvious!

I agree, just pointing out that we're not so bad that we can't even win 2 out of 3 games as I thought one person suggested, but I see I misunderstood him.

2-3 on the road isn't bad, but for us its not good enough.

We beat the team we weren't supposed to beat and gave away the game against Washington.

We are 1-3 in the division.

4-4 and probably have to win 6 of our next 8.

I think the only way we can get to the playoffs is to win the next 3 games (that includes Indy), and beat the Eagles and Giants.

Bottom line we've gave away to many games to just be satisfied.

considering who we've played, our record is lousy...the spin doctor jobs are out of control

we lost to a lousy Commander team...it was on the road, but a far lousier Titan team went in there with a rookie QB who is basically lost and won...we invented a way to lose

you say we beat a Carolina team "that we shouldnt have beat"...why's that? Carolina has been mediocre this yr and probably isnt going to make the playoffs...it was a nice win, but Carolina could very easily be 2-6 instead of 4-4 right now

as for having to win the next 3 inclu Indy, the Indy game ultimately isnt huge for our playoff implications if we take care of other teams..the more critical games are the NFC games, particularly vs NYG, New Orleans, Atlanta and Philly...if we lost to Indy we could still go 6-2 or even 7-1 (not that I think we will, I hope we do...but I think mwe're destined for another non-playoff year)

I guess you weren't around after the Giants game were you.

We were starting Romo in his 1st game, we hadn't beat a team thats worth a crap, and it was on the road.

The majority of the sports world had it written up as a loss and they had every reason to believe that.
