Coincidence that the offense really picked up once AJ went to the bench and Gurode came in. The OL was woeful in the first Q, and looked somewhat better in the 2nd. I really think Gurode is looking much better and giving AJ a little comp.

It's really a win/win for us as the depth is good. I just really think Gurode is better suited in the middle with his size. Hopefully the mental aspect will continue.

Thoughts anyone?

I agree, Gurode is just a more powerful player...

They will continue to rotate in the reg season I suspect, or maybe Gurode gets more reps vs 3-4 teams?

I don't need BP to tell me that Gurode completly outplayed AJ.

Props to Bledsoe and Romo as well. Just pointing out that Gurode played well tonight. No need to run the guy off just yet.

Game announcers also mentioned that Noll replaced Walters at RG in the 2nd quarter at about same time Gurode also came in. Noll apparently was playing pretty well, which is opposite what he was doing in TC.

The whole team started slow and got better as they game went on..they need work but the O-line looked good in the second quarter and the rest of the offense followed along.

Hate that he is a FA after this season.

Decisions, decisions.

If he has a solid year, there is no way we will be able to resign him to play rotating center with AJ.

Dre is rocking AJ right now, he is a physical beast and is stopping those up the middle blitzes!

When you don't study and game plan, of course there's a slow start, and of course the offense will look bad. As the game progresses and the coaches see what the defense is doing, then they begin to call plays that take advantage of what the defense is doing.

It should surprise no one, no matter who was on the field, for the offense to do better as the game progresses. Your offense doesn't work because your 11 guys are soooo superior to the poor clowns on defense. Your offense works because the right plays and blocking schemes get called based on what the defense is doing, and your players execute...but when you are calling plays blind, with no regard to the defense (like early in these games), the offense will struggle no matter how well the team executes.

Note:
Al Johnson started again and they rotated.....

Henson, where art thou?
Turnovers, 3-4 defense :winkie: my first and last post on that
Romo and Bledso - QB's managed the game well - very efficient
Burnett - that would be a sack and a Forced Fumble.

LOL!

Nors you do make me chuckle.

Yes, they managed the game well. Bledsoe looked better. But 7 points over a half still has me concerned.

Being a Cowboys fan, of course you WANT Henson to succeed, right? We gave up a 3rd round pick for a QB that was clearly going to need a few years before he was ready. You're rooting for that to work out for us right? Most top-ranked collegiate QBs that played more games in college than Henson (and didn't take a few years off for baseball) still take a few years before they become good in the NFL - if they ever do. Anyone who follows pro football knows this. How could anyone expect Henson to be ready by the start of year two? The fact that he played well last preseason and in the Ravens game was pretty amazing when you consider how incredibly inexperienced he was. They spent the offseason altering his mechanics and, of course, he started off poorly. According to every written account, his play has been improving throughout camp. I saw the Seahawks game and he played as well as Romo. They both made a boneheaded throw. Henson was a victim of a couple of drops that killed drives. Those are not excuses - just facts. I'm glad Romo played well last night and hope that Bledsoe learns how to convert a 3rd down. I also hope that Henson develops and ends up being a good player for us. They are ALL Cowboys and I want them ALL to succeed. Just like you right? ;)

Yes a huge Cowboy fan - I want the best player to be backing up our starter. Thats clearly Tony Romo.

Personally I'd trade Henson.

It does seem like Romo is the better QB at this point. Maybe not the better prospect but the better QB, which I guess is what matters at this point.
