February 4, 2008 --

They're patent losers.

Less than three weeks after the pathetically pompous New England Patriots filed to copyright "19-0" and "19-0 The Perfect Season,"

the Giants kicked their asterisks,

leaving the trampled team and their premature slogans of victory in the dust.

But one organization that never doubted the Giants' ability to pull through was

The Post, which put its money where its mouth is and ponied up $375 to copyright "18-1," in reference to the Patriots' far-from-perfect season.

Karma is a real ***** sometimes.

You wanna know something.... up until that game ending magical drive... filled with luck and skill and circus catches... I couldnt decide who to root for... I was on the fence all night long...

But when it looked more like "New England's destiny TO LOSE".... I then stated rooting for "Karma" :D

Oh man, what I wouldn't give to get some of those "19 - 0" gear they already had printed up, I want to frame it.

no offense, but they couldn't wait until after it had been done to file a claim to this....someone else would have probably done it. If this had been us, I'd have no problem with us doing it...

It just adds to the drama.....and so, people like to talk about it. Much like Romo and Simpson in Cabo......

Some guy, in Colorado I believe, copyrighted "19-0" and "The Perfect Season" 3 months ago. The Patriots were negotiating with him after their attempted copyrights were rejected. They were talking about 5% of all sales which could have meant millions for the guy. This was all reported on the pregame on Fox. Can you imagine what he went through watching the Patriots go ahead 14-10 only to see the Giants come right back and take the lead? That guy lost millions upon millions in like 10 minutes!

I felt the exact same way..... I wasn't sure who to root for because I can't stand either team.

Sounds like he got a little greedy, he could have just sold it to them and made a little cash.

They had also already scheduled their VICTORY PARADE. The jinx of the Dallas Mavericks. But at least Dallas waited until they were up a few games in the series.

:D The best part about this is: they can't even claim to be the best 18-1 team ever. ;) Those won Super Bowls.

18-1 49ers > 18-1 Patriots
18-1 Bears > 18-1 Patriots

;) In fact, anyone who's ever won a super bowl is greater than the 18-1 Patsies

And then if they won and he lost MORE money by not taking other deal - he would be ridiculed.

I think he was better off going for Pats win... he stood to gain ALOT more.
