Really need to play press man with with our corners and stop this zone ****. It is unreal how we made Trevor Semen look like John Elway and let Palmer drive on us the first couple of possessions with ease. This isn't rocket science, and it's what has been proven to work. Press man to man with the corners with the safties in a zone over the top. We got good man to man corners with Lewis, Brown and OScan. Zone out the linebackers too and use your corners and safties on some blitzes cause it worked great last year the few times it was called. We got 2 very good blitzing corners in OScan and Awuzie (know he's been hurt but when healthy) and Woods looked good last night when he was blitzing and timed a jump to knock a ball away. Heath has shown he has a knack for blitzing too.
It's such a shame to watch this man **** up a very talented and deep defense. This is the most depth I have seen our defense have since the early 90s and Rod is completely ******* us big time. Stop wasting our talent and grow some balls between your bowl-legged ***.

Hate zone defense. Totally agree jam them at the line.

It's not one or the other.

You have to mix it up. Play the same defense the entire game and capable QB's will kill you. Man or zone.

You have to give them something to think about.

I kind of agree that it is easier to get interceptions in zone because you can read the qb and the ball easier. It's going to take time for these youngsters to grow into it. The more route combinations they say the better they'll be in zone. But you have to mix it up regardless.

Yeah I don't mind the zone....I'd just run it less. I don't think we have the safety or linebacker play to run zone as much as we do.
Playing zone requires constant communication on the back end. Somebody has to lead back there.

Except for Scandrick and Heath, we are extremely green in the secondary. It is easier for these young guys to play man than zone.

But you still have to do both.

Playincg strictly man against Thomas and Sanders last week probably would have resulted in a 60 burger.

Rod Marinelli outcoached and outschemed Bruce Arians for the majority of the game, the guy everyone falls over each other trying to congratulate as the greatest offensive genius that ever was.

I'll leave the defensive decisions to that guy over internet message board posters.

We don't get INTS playing either.

Yup. And you can kiss turnovers goodbye if you only play man.

Our 2 best chances to get picks against Arizona came in zone defense. The crazy catch by Fitzgerald and the one that Heath dropped.

Anthony Brown's INT against Eli...came in zone coverage.

The problem with zone coverage is that you need a pass rush to get some pressure more often than not for it to be effective. And even if you...if the QB has a hot hand like Carson Palmer had...he can kill zone coverage.

The fact is that we need to mix it up and play a lot more zone than we played the past 2 years. And the only way to get good at zone is to play it enough so your DB's and LB's develop a better feel for it.

We played mostly man to man after the first quarter. We played zone the entire game against denver. I'd take the internet message board poster over that guy.
