I was getting all excited for the September 3rd start of the season, so I looked up to see what time the game is, but the schedule says it's starting on Sept 10th, not the 3rd. I thought we had played the last preseason game. Is there one more preseason game that I didn't know about?

I just picked up a schedule from the store.. It is indeed September 10. You wouldn't want to watch a new team on a short practice week. They need two weeks to prepare.

They have started the season the Thursday after Labor Day for quite some time now. The league shortening the amount of pre-season games over the past few seasons does throw off the perception of when the season will begin. You get used to 4 pre-season games(5 if your team participates in the HoF game), that you expect one more game at this time.

Ha, used to be 6 preseason games at one point. Go back far enough and you would have the SB Champs playing the top College team. Anyone remember that?

I agree. After Labor Day is just too long. However I think they do it as not to interfere with the NCAA opening weekend.

Yep, it's not like the first team been playing these PS games; plus they haven't been wasting their time game planning these teams either. They could have been already practicing and setting up their game plans for the Giants the week before. Two weeks is just crazy.
