I'm not a big fan of multiple trade downs (ex. 2009) but unlike that year, the 2013 draft offers more depth at positions of need for this team then in a long time.
Round 1. At pick 18 we have none of our top choices available so Cincinnati trades up to 18 for either DJ Fluker or Kenny Vaccaro and in return we receive picks 21, 118, and pick 156. 3 picks pass and we still dont like the value on the board but Desmond Trufant remains and Atlanta calls trying to move up and get him before corner hungry teams come on the clock. Atlanta sends picks 30 and 60 to Dallas for picks 21 and 114.
Picks remaining in this draft: 30, 47, 60, 80, 118, 151, 156, and 185.
Round 1. Pick 30: Bjoern Werner DE Florida St
This guy can play football but apparently a lot of teams must think he's not flashy enough to be there first round selection. At pick 30 he provides good value for this team and a viable replacement for Spencer in 2014. We have zero depth at DE and adding him to the rotation could be huge for this team.
Alternate Pick: Kawaan Short DT Purdue

Round 2. Pick 47: Kyle Long OG/OT Oregon
Here's a guy who could go a little higher in the second round but for the sake of this mock he made it to 47. We all know they have some interest in him or they wouldn't have brought him to Valley Ranch for a visit. He's a very good fit for this Oline if indeed we're switching to a zone-blocking scheme, he's probably the best athlete playing guard in this draft (former minor league pitcher)
Alternate Pick: Justin Pugh OG Syracuse

Round 2. Pick 60: DJ Swearinger S South Carolina
This around the spot in the second where if you want him you had better take him because both San Fran and Baltimore would probably look very hard at adding him to their secondaries. He's probably from a value standpoint my favorite safety in this draft.
Alternate Pick: Phillip Thomas S Fresno St

Round 3. Pick 80: Bennie Logan DT LSU
If a run on DT's take's place in the middle or late 2nd he might not make it down this far but in all likelyhood he should be around at pick 80. He's the underrated guy on a team that was loaded with talent in the front 7 but make no mistake he can play. I know they've brought him in and they also made a trip to Baton Rouge to work him out, so the interest level with him is very high.
Alternate Pick: Le'Veon Bell RB Michigan St

Round 4. Pick 118:Travis Kelce TE Cincinnati
The off the field issues could make this pick one of great value. He like alot of the guys in front of him in this mock have met with Dallas so the interest level is there and the talent is definitely there, the only concern is his problems off the field in the past. I'm sure he's reassured teams that those problems are in the past and if so we should definitely pounce at this pick.
Alternate Pick: Dion Sims TE Michigan St

Round 5. Pick 151: Joseph Randle RB Oklahoma St
The forgotten man in this years running back class has fallen as of late because of concerns about fumbles, but last year we took a guy who could run but couldnt supposedly catch this late(Hanna) and that pick turned out to be pretty darn good. He could be a very good complement to Murray even though both are kind of the same in the way they play.
Alternate Pick: Jakar Hamilton S South Carolina St

Round 5. Pick 156: Chris Faulk OT LSU
Injuries will push him down because no team wants to invest a early pick in a guy who cant stay healthy. If we can get Faulk here at this pick I'd put him on IR and let him basically get a redshirt year in and that way we could still add someone like Clabo or Winston for a year or two and have the RT of the future waiting in the wings.
Alternate Pick: JC Tretter OG Harvard

Round 6. Pick 185: Conner Vernon WR Duke
He's sneaky, smart WR who can add quality depth to our roster which is constantly depleted at the position.
Alternate Pick: Charles Johnson WR Grand Valley St
