Now we have a high school player skipping a season before moving to the next level. Next up, middle school players.

This is pretty ridiculous! I agree about withdrawing the scholarship. Finishing your high school career should be a prerequisite before starting your college career.

He is finishing HS - just not playing football. I can see the logic - why risk injury etc when you've already got the scholarship. Allows him to concentrate on getting good grades.

In the end of the day, we're talking about amateur athletes here - playing is voluntary.
