I can tell without any doubt, that this has been the most stressful and entertaining (do not know if in a good or bad way) Cowboys season that I have endured since I am a fan.

During most of the seventies, and the first half of the eighties, you just knew that the Cowboys would be a winning franchise and you expected them to win, hence, that was no surprise if the won.

During the second half of the eighties, you knew that the Cowboys were not very good, and therefore any loss was to a degree, expected.

During most of the nineties, you knew Dallas was a powerhouse and usually won, and losses were not important (that is until 1997 -1999).

During the 2000 through 2003 seasons, well the Cowboys had not so high expectations and therefore, losses we easier to digest.

Beggining the Parcells era, we expected to have a steep increase in the won versus the lost column and with the draft this year and our record in the first ten games, I had the expectation that the Cowboys would be better in the second half, which as we have all witnessed, has been quite the contrary.

This last 3 weeks, have taken away at least two years in my life expectancy. Are all of you immune to this rollercoaster of a season, or are you like myself, having difficulty in coping with it?

Weird season.

4 weeks ago 'they' were talking of home field advantage and 'I don't fear anyone in the NFC', to 'Parcells needs to go' after yesterdays loss.

This has been a cardiac season - I've enjoyed and hated the swings.

But were we really anything more than a 10-6 or 9-7 team? realistic?

I'm looking forward to next year when a lot of these narrow losses are converted into wins.

If we believe that "you are what your record shows" then, quite clearly and realistically, I believe we will be a 9-7 team.

This season has in some ways reminded me of 1998, Gailey's first season. We were lights out on offense for pretty much all of the games Aikman played in before Thanksgiving (he missed 5 w/ the broken collarbone in September and October), and then lost a shootout to the Vikes on Turkey Day, 46-36. Team unraveled a bit after that but still had enough in the tank to make it to 10-6. Of course, then came the wild card debacle against the Cardinals.

We had big name vets on that club also (on both sides of the ball) that underachieved or otherwise let us down as the season went on and the games increased in importance.

I gotta agree with you. Yesterday was the only game that wasn't exciting.

Don't put it past this team to win big this weekend. I don't think they are going to roll over and go 1-4 after 7-3 and nearly 10-0. The old adage says that in the NFL the team that needs to win the most usually wins. Carolina at 10-4 clearly doesn't need the win as much as 8-6 Dallas. Therefore, I expect Dallas to win.
