Bosa out early in 3rd with concussion. Warner went out. This is the game Jimmy G got shoulder injury that eventually needed surgery.

How is this seasons Cowboy team different from this game?

Interesting .......even with all the penalties, we were still in this game right down to the last few mins.

Man, haven’t watched that since it happened.
The game itself wasn’t as lopsided as I remembered.
At one point we had the ball down by only 6 with over 2 minutes left in the 4th. We could’ve stolen that game had a play or two gone differently.

And wow, that’s a lot of penalties. Normally the YouTube highlight videos gloss over the penalties. This one shows a ton. Lots of flags impacted that game.

Didn't we get like 14 penalties in that game? Unreal. I hope Sunday's game doesn't become another flag fest!!

prob cause we scored 7 points in 3 whole quarters, penalties or not thats pretty bad.
It was 23-7 entering the 4th. Offense was completely off

Defense while keeping the game relatively low scoring considering our offense was on/off the field really could not stop the run nor pressure Jimmy G. 0 sacks vs us giving up 5. However, 49ers only scored once in the second half.

As a 49ers fan, what's your view on Jimmy G (serious question)?

Our team is a year more seasoned for the playoffs with a win under its belt. Very young team.

The biggest penalty offenders (two highest in league) are gone.

Defense is tougher and better.

Bosa won't be abusing Collins.

We can't bake extra points.

Bosa didn't play in the second half last year iirc. That said, Smith and Smith at both ends should be sturdier for Dak this time around. I still worry about McGovern. He is the weak link and the fact that they would risk injury to Peters to give Prescott better protection is the tell that he is substandard in pass pro. In hindsight, the Cowboys should've just gone with Smith and McGovern against the Bucs and saved Peters as insurance. They winded up getting him hurt for not much good. They didn't really need him versus the Bucs. The protection was pretty good in his absence.

Parsons, LVE, Barr, Hankins and Gholston will really need to ball against the run in this game. The big boys have to hold up this time around. Dallas has to resist putting too many men in the box...and, if they can force (via Parsons and his pressures/alignments) a WR or TE to stay in to protect then that's a small win for the Dallas defense.

The issue last year was the 49ers generating pressure without blitzing which is Dak’s weak point. He’s great against pressure when you blitz.

How well the OL holds up against their front in pass pro will decide the game.

Exactly......the game was a lot closer than some remember. It's not like they dominated us.....

The 49ers whipped our butts up front on both sides of the ball. Rewatch the game if you can on NFL Network. I actually think Shanahan made some coaching errors to keep us in the game. Maybe Jimmy G kept the score down.

The Cowboys shot themselves in the foot over and over and over again. If they play mistake free football the 49ers are in for a much tougher game then they remember from last.

It sounds crazy but San Francisco was playing for their playoff lives about a month before the playoffs last season. The Cowboys locked their spot up in week 15. They punched us in the mouth early and it took a half to recover. The second half was pretty even.
