Took in the North workout this afternoon. The highlights and lowlights:

+This is why many first-round types no longer play in these games. Wisconsin defensive end O'Brien Schofield tore a ligament in the left knee during a pass-rushing drill. O'Brien's scream of agony brought practice to a brief halt. His status is not known.

+ Dan LeFevour of Central Michigan showed the best arm and throwing mechanics of the three North quarterbacks. Cincinnati's Tony Pike has something, but Oregon State's Sean Canfield has limited arm strength.

+ Missouri linebacker Sean Weatherspoon is nothing if not confident. When Oregon running back LeGarrett Blount pulled up short on a pass play, Weatherspoon chirped ``What's wrong, No. 9 (Blount)? You didn't want that ball.'' Blount gained infamy this season for punching a Bolse State after an opening-game loss.

+ Boise State has one player in the game: defensive back Kyle Wilson. He had no visible interaction with Blount.
