The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson was one of the best shows ever on TV as far as I am concerned. Here is a great clip from the 70's for you to enjoy. Dom DeLuise sets up an elaborate slight of hand trick with eggs. Johnny thinks he's in on the gag when things suddenly turn into an impromptu food fight.

Wow BP that's hilarious :muttley:

Carson was brilliant. I loved his show. The only person that comes close o him as far as being able to ad lib that way is Robin Williams. Would love to see him do a show like that if he could keep his thoughts to entertainment.

Back when late night television really was funny. Damn I miss Johnny.

x2, back when you didn't need to cuss and be incredibly crude to get a laugh...

You need to search youtube for the old dean martin celebrity roasts...there are a bunch of them on there. Don Rickles and Foster Brooks were always my fave on those and the one where Foster Brooks is talking about Rickles had me rolling.

I guess we're showing our age, aren't we?

Man, I use to watch Johnny every night ... from junior high until 1992 when he called it quits.

I also love Rickles. Whenever he was the guest host, he would go out into the crowd with the microphone and interview/insult people. I bet people in the audience were horrified when they saw him coming their way with that mic.
