Hitchens injury more serious than first thought

Wow talk about hyperbole. We'll be fine.

Of course it's hyperbole.

Sure, if you be fine as in they'll be ready to go, okay. Haha, but if they're out/hobbled then I think it's pretty safe we'd be in serious trouble.

You have to have at least some talent to stop GB's offense. It was already a huge test. If our two best run defending LB's are out, our best pass rusher is out, against a completely dominant OL, one of the best passing attacks in the NFL, and a run game that's been clicking... well it won't be pretty.

Not saying they're going to miss, but *if* they do, get prepared for a shootout.

Well
a) we do have talent,
b)teams not as talented as us like Tampa, Buffalo, Minnesota, New Orleans all held GB under 30 points.
c) can we please stop acting like Green Bay/Rodgers are some kind of robots that are God's gift to the NFL. This team lost 4 games, has the exact same record we do. They are not some unstoppable force like this is Alabama taking on College Of Charleston or something.

Where did you hear that? I hope you are right.

Tuesday Article
Another topic Hitchens didn’t have an answer for was his availability in practice this week. He missed most of last week’s practices with a high-ankle sprain but managed to play Sunday. And he even played more than expected afterRolando McClain left the game with what was eventually diagnosed as concussion-like symptoms.

As he was heading to the training room for more treatment on Tuesday, Hitchens said he wasn’t sure if he’ll be able to practice this week and would adhere to the athletic trainers once again. But he did say the ankle is improving from last week.

“It’s feeling better,” Hitchens said. “We’ll see how it goes this week.”

Hitchens, a fourth-round pick from Iowa, started at all three linebacker spots at some point throughout the season. And he finished third on the team with 100 tackles in the regular season.

I may have to stop reading the zone until game time. These injury posts are making me go crackers! Is having at least most of our starting defense out there against the Cheezits too much to ask? Ugh!

I ain't worrying about a damn thing unless we hear something more official I swear one vague report & someone decides to post then half of the people on here lose their damn minds! If anyone's not playing I'd say Free & TMac. We'll find out about the concussion twins tomorrow but Hitchens is the lowest on my totem pole of question marks.

Our base is actually nickel for this game. With that said we need Carter and McClain to have their best game of the season. I think they can get it done. If one goes down put in Hitchens.

consider going with an extra Safety....ike Barry Church. Barry does not offer much by way of coverage deep in the secondary anyway. With their ability to catch short routes and run after the catch....you really do not want Hitchens out there if he cannot move.

I think he still suits up. This is our season. Every week is win or go home. He'll be out there. I hope rolando is too.

What was free injury? he isn't practicing again. We need to get our guys healthy and practicing so they are ready for the game.

Fish is pretty good about telling it like it is which doesn't leave me very optimistic

I think that "limited" is a practice participation reference. But, there is clearly a reason to be concerned about their ability to play on Sunday.

In the past Fish was the best "insider" type media guy for Cowboys information including being better than the Cowboys own media guys; however, starting with when RoMc got to the Cowboys Fish turned into Ed Werder or something specifically about RoMc. Fish tried and tried to create a controversial story about McClain.

Fish also bought a Cowboys message board about that same time frame so that could have something to do with it. He might have been trying to get more subscribers.

I'm more worried about Ro honestly. Obviously I'd like to have Hitchens out there, but I think we will be playing A LOT of nickle anyway. As long as ro and Carter are good to go I don't think a Hitchens injury is too huge.

Sucks that we've made it this far but now face our toughest challenge in the biggest game possibly severely handicapped due to injury defensively. Hopefully Jerry can slide some ca$h to the independent doctors so they will clear Mincey and RoMac.

You have to consider the source it's coming from. Mike Fisher is a clown.

No, he's not. I'm don't agree with Fisher in a number of ways, but as a reporter of local teams, he's as tied-in and balanced as they come.

Hitchens will play, however. I can't imagine he sits out now after playing last week.
