Just want to say a quick hey to all my old buddies here. Been away for awhile..

Just a few thoughts quick, wanted to see how everyone feels about the rookie Wilson.

Thought he played a very good game. Seems like another quality pick for us, much like Hitchens.

By the way.. since i've been gone awhile. Hitchens.. i told ya so. lol :p

Excited to have Hardy and McClain back.. hope Hitchens starts at SLB, with Wilson subbing at both OLB positions.

Mo seems to be doing much better this year. Thought White would be much better than it seems he has been.

Still love me some Wilcox. Wish we'd get a better FS to play next to him though. Jones maybe? Or keep him at CB?

Need more pressure by the guys up front.. still not seeing enough with guys like Mincey, Crawford, Lawrence.. although Lawrence looks like the best of them all so far, which is a good sign.

Thoughts?

Wilson - Has looked great, considering where he was drafted.

Dline - Everyone will look better once Hardy and Gregory get back into the rotation. Can't double-team them all, right?

Hitchens - Seems to be underrated on this board. For all the talk about Lee and RoMac finally being on the field at the same time, I think many forget Hitchens has been one of the better players on that side of the ball this season.

Mo Claiborne - Mo, if resigned, likely means Byron Jones will be the FS of the future.

McClain is a head case who will probably retire soon.

Hitchens and Wilson were reaches.

Lee is made of glass.

Everyone knows concussions only happen to guys who are injury prone.

Hitchens started all three positions last year and damn near saved the Cowboys season, but it was probably just a fluke.

Great to see you again RTH, I've noticed you've been gone.
The DL gets an infusion of talent this week and again in a few weeks. I look forward to that.
I'm very glad Wilson and Hitchens are on the team. They're players.

Wilcox I'm souring on. He's following up cruddy performances with crappy performances.
We might be seeing BJones at safety full time this year at some point.

My prediction is that Church's days are numbered and Wilcox will be sliding back to SS, with Byron Jones taking over fulltime at FS. Again, though, that is if Claiborne is resigned.

Please, I'll hold the door for Church.

At one time, Church was one of the better players on this defense...but he has hit his ceiling (and may have even bounced off that ceiling a bit), while everyone around him has been replaced with better players or have improved their craft. I doubt he loses his role within this season, but I could definitely see the Cowboys looking to improve that position in 2016.

Based on one play?

Based on much of his play in the pre-season as well. He made a few nice plays totally on instinct. People focus on that but he's not been very good otherwise.

Wilson seems to have the same instincts for the position as Hitchens. That seems to be something that we have scouted very well. I like the big clean hits from Wilcox and Church, but they play so far back to avoid getting burned that they whiff coming up on those slants. I will say that we have been very successful at deterring the deep bomb, but that results in us getting killed over the middle. Box safeties gotta be in the box

I'm not saying he's going to the pro bowl. But for where he was drafted and for a rookie, in general, I thought he has played well. But admittedly, I haven't sat back and just watched him, so you could be right.

Would like to see Wilson get more snaps, has some nice speed and instincts.

I don't blame Wilson on the winning TD. He's a rookie, he's not Sean Lee.

Hitchens and Wilson are OK, but our defense hinges on whether Lee and McClain can stay on the field. They make big plays.

I think Hitch makes alot of plays as well.

He is solid but he hasn't had the impact Lee has on the passing game and the mean McClain brings to the run game.

Being able to do it all and cover for everyone is a huge plus.
