He's a former Hawkeye.
Tough as nails
Yes! If he can play even at 90% we're in business.
That would be my concern...how effective will he be? Saying you're ready and actually being ready are two different things. I trust the medical/coaching staff will know and react accordingly.
Oh, WHO would put faith in a player that from the start has played by putting all on the line and showing pure guts an entire season?
I never said that I didn't have faith in him. Every player, I would think, will want to play whether he should (speaking from a medical readiness view) or not. As I said, the coaches and trainers will do what's right. I truly hope he's ready. He's an important piece of the defense.
I played three games at the USAFA, with a cracked left elbow...before they put a cast on it following the end of season.
A player with heart, can endure a whole lot. No heart, and the time period expands to six weeks. There is a mental side to the game...and Melton has found his own pain acceptance point, and it now is pretty low. Coming back from injury, he has embraced it again. But for him, probably will seek employment elsewhere. He was on trial, and the past six weeks has shown his merit...and a Doctor's slilp doesn't cover not meeting team needs.
