I wouldn't even attempt to let him practice until friday. High Ankle sprains just need time.

I am loving the make-up of the team now. No one is waiting around until someone else makes a play...and that is indicated here:

Dallas collected two interceptions and two fumbles from Washington and defensive end Anthony Spencer returned one of those fumbles 5 yards for a touchdown.

Dallas leads all playoff teams in turnovers forced with 31 (18 interceptions, 13 fumble recoveries).

Hitchens thinks he can go and that's just the kind of talk you like to hear. It'd probably help if the staff shares the same confidence that he has about being ready to play. At any rate, I'd rather hear he's feeling able and ready than the opposite. He'll need to be in there and playing his best against Detroit. Hopefully, that'll be the case Sunday afternoon.

Yes! If he can play even at 90% we're in business.

That would be my concern...how effective will he be? Saying you're ready and actually being ready are two different things. I trust the medical/coaching staff will know and react accordingly.

Oh, WHO would put faith in a player that from the start has played by putting all on the line and showing pure guts an entire season?

I never said that I didn't have faith in him. Every player, I would think, will want to play whether he should (speaking from a medical readiness view) or not. As I said, the coaches and trainers will do what's right. I truly hope he's ready. He's an important piece of the defense.

I played three games at the USAFA, with a cracked left elbow...before they put a cast on it following the end of season.

A player with heart, can endure a whole lot. No heart, and the time period expands to six weeks. There is a mental side to the game...and Melton has found his own pain acceptance point, and it now is pretty low. Coming back from injury, he has embraced it again. But for him, probably will seek employment elsewhere. He was on trial, and the past six weeks has shown his merit...and a Doctor's slilp doesn't cover not meeting team needs.

OK, bud. I'm just saying that a rookie saying he is ready to go doesn't make it necessarily so. He may be right and I sure hope he is.

That would be great news if he can play on Sunday.

And I'm reminded of what an incredible rookie season he's had.

From a highly-criticized reach of a draft pick when many (myself included) thought we had much bigger needs than 'a backup middle linebacker who will never play', to a key contributor who we'll be lucky to have back on the field.
