By the letter of the rules? Yes Hitchens made some contact and he tugged the jersey a little early in the route, but he was also tugged on, pushed and face-masked. Refs usually categorize this as "minimal" and let it slide, otherwise there's going to be a flag on every single pass play.

What really gets me, and maybe it frustrates other fans as well, is how the QB can throw the ball to the opposite side of the defender and then get an interference flag when the receiver can't get to the ball. One of the worst rules on the books IMO.

Mike and Mike show, the skinny one (don't know his 1st name), kept saying over and over that was pass interference. But Chris Carter just came on the show and changed his mind somewhat. Saying that the ball was underthrown and the receiver never went after the ball. He kept moving away from it, and didn't go after it. And that the defender has as much right to that space as the offensive player. If the receiver went to the ball, then the pass interference would have upheld.

Shows how someone who has played the position see's the interaction vs a commentator who is just looking for " their moment" to attach their take to an event.

I don't get why one play is overshadowing the aftermath of the PI reversal.

Detroit has a 10 yard punt.
Detroit fails to stop us on 4&6 and we eventually score a TD on the final drive.
We fumbled the ball back into their hands and they still fell short of scoring. Scoring 3 points in the second half of a game won't win you many games. Excuses can be made, but the facts remain the same. Detroit was given every chance to open it up on us in the first half and failed in their effort.

Considering he's playing a week after sustaining a high ankle sprain, and covering TEs downfield, yeah, he was impressive yesterday.

Tough to get your head turned around when its being restricted by the WR

He can't even see right now. His helmet is literally pulled over his eyes. The cowardly Lions fans need to head to Oz.
