Hitchens is an average LB and Stephen Jones was smart enough not to pay him $9M per season.

Good for hm. Is there a point in this thread other than pointing out he’s doing well?

Lee's contract is bigger. Other 2 guys are on rookie deals so we'll see how long that lasts. Jaylon is probably going to ink a new deal this offseason. LVE is still an unknown. Paid a high draft price for him, so I wouldn't consider him inexpensive.

I hadn't really thought about it, but it is an interesting take to think of letting Lee go and retaining Hitchens. Lee has historically been a much better player, but is on the down side of his career.

Still think we made the right move, but at some point it may not be quite as clear. Lee isn't Lee so far this year.
