Hmm, is Gibbs pulling a fast one?

I don't think Gibbs will "pull a fast one". He seems adamantly opposed to playing Campbell - for whatever reason(s). Maybe he doesn't feel he's ready yet, or maybe he's not comfortable enough in the offense yet.

But I'm glad that Campbell won't play, his starting would be the one thing that could give the Commanders hope.

Why? He looked like crap in pre-season when teams were running vanilla defense at them. Hope is one thing false hope is another Campbell did not look good at all in pre-season and I doubt he will all of a sudden turn it on when defense are showing a lot more. Burnell on the other hand has been known to get a hot hand and play very good football. Heck I hope the Skins do put the rookie out there.

Well do they have any hope now with Brunell?

None.

They're 2-5 and Brunell's dinking-and-dunking is killing their offense.

Even if Campbell loses, the fans and the team will still have some form of optimism for the future, much like Dallas has with Romo right now.

They have nothing to look forward to from Brunell - nothing.

The fact that he's still out there at this point amazes me.

I'm not saying that what I'm saying is in 1 game situations this one there is a better chance in my view that Burnell could have a very good game than the odds of Campbell having a big game. No doubt Burnell is on the hot seat for a reason and his days are numbered. As for Romo he has been training now 4 years for this chance and has shown some ability Campbell has looked like garbage in this past pre-season and does not look even close to being ready. Now if you look that bad in pre-season chances are your going to look worse in the reg season. So if the skins what to throw Campbell out there Sunday great but I like our chances a lot better going aginst Campbell than Burnell.

Carano, good job in the 1980 Thanksgiving day game.:D

I did get into the 1980 Thanksgiving blowout of Seattle, but it was the following year in 1981 that I had extensive playing time. Danny went down early that year against the Bears on Thanksgiving and I came in and played quite a bit. We struggled that game to win 10-9 against the Bears. Luckily "Too Tall" blocked that extra point.

;)

Personally, while I wouldn't like to face a QB in general for whom I hadn't adequately prepared (if that's the case) ... if the choice is between Mark Brunell and Jason Campbell on Sunday, I'd much rather face Campbell.

Brunell's 3rd in the NFC with a 90.6 passer rating. He was solid against us last year (6 TDs, 1 pick), and he wasn't that bad against us this September, considering he got sacked 6 times.

Campbell, on the other hand, has never thrown a pass in the regular season. This preseason, he completed just 47% of his passes for 0 touchdowns and 1 interception -- against second string defenses. Last preseason, it was 46% completion, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions. Anything can happen, but I'd take my chances with the #4 ranked defense in the league against that QB.

Of course, if I was a Commander fan sitting at 2-5, I'd much rather let my former #1 pick get experience, even if it meant I had a smaller chance to win in the short run.

Brunell is starting. He practiced Wednesday and Thursday

Gibbs won't bench him till we're mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs. (if ever)

I hear ya, but why does Gibbs always play these games with who is hurt and who is not hurt and who is playing and who is not playing? Go coach your team and worry about that and not worry about all this other meanigless BS. The team that plays the best on Sunday will win regardless. If they want to play Campbell and surprise us, be my guest. A QB making his first NFL start is a recipe for disaster, especially against your biggest rival. Not to mention the fact that Campbell is no good.

what games has he played? give me one example of him playing these games. I am dying to hear what you are going to pull out of your arse

High pitch does it quite often, the last time being this year with Portis. Portis is out, Portis is out, Portis is out, blah blah blah. Then he starts.

High pitch should quit worrying about keeping the other teams guessing on who is going to play and who is not going to play and he should also quit worrying about sending tapes to the NFL offices after every game about officiating calls he deems questionable and start worrying about his deteriorating coaching skills. It's over high pitch, give it up.

Portis got what, all but 7 or 8 carries that game  Its not like he came out and got the brunt of the work. And that was what, 8 weeks ago? Your trying to tell me he is the master of misinformation by only do it once this year? (and even that time is a stretch by you)

You asked for an example and I gave you one. Stop worrying about Cowboys fans calling out your coach and start worrying about how bad your team has performed this year. You guys are in trouble and there's no end in sight.

usually in order to "always" do something, you have to do it more than once.

Romo threw in interception last week, I guess that means he is always prone to throwing an interception

What does worrying about my team get me? Will it change the coaches decisions come gametime? Why not just sit back and let it all play out instead of getting worked up over speculation

What does complaing about me calling high pitch out for playing games get you?

You do that, you sit back and let it all play out. Let the Commanders falling apart play out, let Gibbs try to coach when the game has passed him by play out, let Jason Campbell not be an NFL QB play out etc.

Enjoy.

Satisfaction. Watching you backpedal is pretty funny

High pitch is no longer a competent NFL coach, so he has to play all these "games" with the injury report and sending videos to the NFL. Poor high pitch is getting old and it's an embarrassing way to end his career. If it was anybody else I would feel sorry for him, watching his career end like this. But it's high pitch and I love it. Talk about satisfaction.:lmao2:

What game are you guys referring to?

Anyone listed as doubtful, you prepare for. End of story.

This thread should have ended long ago.

If Campbell starts I'm envisioning a beating worse than we gave the Titans when they gave Vince his first start.

Local D.C. radio show this morning is claiming that it is a virtual lock that Campbell is starting against us on Sunday.

Now that I think about it....... Brunell has a mysterious rib ailment, Campbell has been with first team in practice for two weeks now, Gibbs well known for messing around with injury reports.

I smell a fake Brunell injury and a Campbell start. I hope Parcells has too and is prepared (I'm sure he will be).

I hope he does. Maybe after he throws his 4th pick, they'll stop gawkng over him
