Hmm. Lots of people don't like our uniforms.

I won't even bother reading that crap. I don't really like the Cowboys but those uniforms are classic.

I do wish you'd wear the navy blue more often but that's it.

Bah! I'm too lazy to register.

Me, too. So, anyone, where do we rank?

I do not like the fact that the shade of blue on the jersey doesn't match the blue on the logo, or helmet/pants stripe. It's lighter.

I can't find the rankings for nfl jerseys in 2005, but we were in the top five in 2001-2002. Those weren't our best years either. Doesn't matter...I buy a new Cowboys jersey every year because they look good...that's all that really matters. What do you recommend, Cleveland Browns jerseys?

Top 5 NFL Uniforms You HATE!, Make your list.

DirtyCurty said:
5) Cleveland Browns - Too plain. No logo on the helmet, which is kinda like having no identity. First they need to come up with a primaty logo, and they can't even do that! At least slap Alabama-style numbers on the helmets and do something with that permenent tribute to Al Lerner. He wasn't that great to derseve that kinda honor.

4) Dallas Cowboys - Too many shades of blues and silvers. I've been over this before, but I cannot stand how the nothing matches. It's simple guys. Just use the bluish-silver and navy blue only!! They should just go retro to what they wore in the Staubach days, and wear blue unis at home, please!!

3) Pittsburgh Steelers - One side of the helmet is plain. Why?? I know the story behind it because one day the equipment manager got lazy and left them off or something. Just because some dude was hungover and didnt do his job right isn't an excuse to have only one logo on your helmet. Seriously though, get original. That logo is a rip-off and usues colors that arent even in the uniform. They should fix the stripes too. The sleves don't come close to matching the pants.

2) Tennessee Titans - Mismatch City here, boys. The helmet uses the spike style stripes, no stripes on the sleves, and regular stripe style pants. The logo also blows on top of that. With the colors they use, they had so much potential, but they really dropped the ball with this garbage.

1) Buffalo Bills - I don't even have to list reasons because everybody knows these suck. Go back to just red, white, and blue, circa 1970s. It's that simple. Even their own fans know the '65 throwbacks were 4590832 times better than the red, white, and dark/royal/silverish blue disaster they use now.

Braden said:
I don't hate them, it's just things that slightly bug me when I watch them play:

5) New Orleans Saints - It always bugged me how the pants stripe doesn't match the helmet.

4) Tennessee Titans - The only thing that bugs me is the helmet. Baaad helmet. Doesn't match anything else in the uniform.

3) Detroit Lions - They're the perfect example of what NOT to do when you're modernizing a logo. Take proper examples from the 49ers, Dolphins, Cardinals, etc.

2) Dallas Cowboys - The rediculous mismatching colours always bugged me. Especially the blue on their home uniform is royal when it's nowhere else in the uniform.

1) Buffalo Bills - This is an obvious no-brainer. Navy should have been introduced as an accent colour, not the primary.

Unwind23 said:
1. Dallas Cowboys
2. Washington Commanders
3. Minnesota Vikings
4. Chicago Bears
5. Tennessee Titans

Why? The first four are too plain and haven't been updated in years. Yeah, flame me. I don't care that they're traditional and historical and all that crap. They still look terrible.

The Titans are a whole 'nother story. Refer to Curt's post if you need further elaboration. He pretty much got it right.

Wilson said:
5. Saints. Please return to your older colors, these are drab.

4. Bengals. They overdid things here, pull back a few notches.

3. Cowboys. How many variations of colors do we need?

2. Bills. Yeech. thats all.

1. Dolphins. yeah, you read right. I cannot stand these colors they switched to in teh later 90's. Its so... 'soft'. Its like easy listening on the football field. THe addition of navy on the unis was baaaad bad.

In no particular order:

Pittsburgh Steelers: Bring back the block-style numbers. They look more intimidating than this new-age slanty crap they've used the last few years. The block numbers stir up flashbacks of Bradshaw, Harris, Lambert and Greene. The current numbers scream "1996 New England Patriots"

Cincinnati Bengals: Specifically the orange third and the black jersey. The white insert panels are awful. I didn't have a problem with the previous generation unis.

Buffalo Bills: The white jerseys with the blue yoke are stupid looking and the dark blue ones aren't much better. They should use the throwback jerseys full time with white helmets and the current primary logo. It would be a nice mix of old school vs. new school.

Detroit Lions: Just the black jersey. Drop the black jersey, it looks ridiculous. The black outline isn't bad on the numbers and logos on the regular jerseys as it adds some depth, but the black jerseys have to go.

Dallas Cowboys: They had something with the "Double Star" uniforms in 1994-95. Like the 49ers, Giants and Eagles redesigns, it would have been a great evolution for a historic team. You could have double-stars with white shoulders and a navy body for the dark and then navy shoulders and a white body for the white. You could finally kick out the screen-printed numbers and the two shades of silver pants. Instead you've got the same old crap. They're building a new stadium in Dallas, maybe they should consider evolving from the Danny White era jerseys too.

digman69 said:
1. Cincinnatti Bengals: The obvious choice, just horrible all around uniforms. I can't add anything that hasn't said already. Scrap the whole thing and start from scratch.

2. Dallas Cowboys: I really wish they had a colored home jersey that matches their current white uniforms, like they did back in the day. The white jersey game after game gets boring.

3. Buffalo Bills: Same as the Bengals. Scrap it and start from scratch. Horrid jerseys all around. Also, Seattle maybe be able to pull off the monocrhome homes, but that doesn't mean that you can. no monochromes allowed in Buffalo.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: What happined to the home dark jerseys? Was there a fire in your equipment room? This is them trying to take Miami's tradition of wearing white at home. I understand in the hotter months, but now you need to wear those maroons. Just because Miami does it, doesn't mean you need to.

5. Arizona Cardinals: I don't mind the update or the side striping, but I do mind the huge red shoulder yokes. They do not look good. The red unis look fine, but the whites need some serious work.

As for the Minnesota Wild, they look great, best new age look in the NHL. Dark Green, Red, Cream, and White, plus a great logo. Their uni's are all around winners.

BCBoy said:
I cant belive this! Your hatin' on the Steelers unis!?!?! They are by far my favourite of all the NFL teams.
As for the worst:
1. BUFFALO
2. DALLAS WHITE ROAD UNIS
3. JACKSONVILLE
4. NEW ORLEANS
5. MINNESOTA

Here are my 5 that have my attention.

Buffalo Bills- The Bills previous uniforms were a master of simplicity. The Jim Kelly-era threads saw four Super Bowls and a host of other good seasons and events, and the color scheme though similar to the Patriots and Giants still managed to look unique. Then Drew Bledsoe-era showed up and they decided to bring in uniforms that blew major chunkage. puke.gif First they introduced navy blue (navy is today's black y'know) but still kept their royal blue, then they introduced silver (oh my bad, I mean "Buffalo Nickel" *cough), and then they mixed together into a uniform I wouldn't use to pick up dog poo with. Go back to the previous uniforms and include a pair of blue pants for the away package (which by the way the Kelly-era had but didn't use often) and once a year break out the white helmet and throwbacks.

Cleveland Browns- "It's Tradition!" Fine, it's tradition to look like a bunch of walking Butterfingers. Ditch the orange pants, the orange alternate shirts, the orange socks, and maybe even the orange hats, and try some things that are....gee I dont know, BROWN? I'd reduce the orange to a trim color and maybe even try adding another secondary color like gold or bronze. It's a sad day when the fans have a better logo than you do. Try investing in a logo that doesn't have to be worn on the field but it still would nice to give the team more of an identitiy. The fans want a bulldog theme- I say give it the team one as well.

Dallas Cowboys- The team has a fine logo, but it would be nice if they could have some kind of consistency between thier home and away kits. I'd make one pair of pants the same color as thier helmets and would be worn both home and away. The socks would be one color blue and would also be the same home and away. I'd make the white jerseys the same design as their current navy ones. Royal blue and the black trim would go, and any throwback would come out for Thanksgiving only.

New York Giants- This has got to stop. Their "new" throwback away kits are a disaster. Simple fix, just admit that not everything from the past needs to be revived. I'd bring back the kits they had last year, complete with blue socks. Period. I'd also add a little red trim to the numbers on the home kits just to add some continuity.

Jacksonville Jaguars- Too much black. They haven't messed too much with their home kits, but the away ones need some work. They currently look like the Saints with black helmets. I'd have the home uniforms stay the same but with white pants only. The away ones need to go back to teal numbers, a black collar, and either white or teal pants. The black pants should only come out for night games regradless if home or away. I'd bring back the black pants with the teal & gold stripes, and when they do come out, the socks need to be either teal or gold to avoid the unitard look.

I realize that no one will agree with mine, but here goes

TOP FIVE WORST

5. New Orleans/Baton Rouge/San Antonio Saints- I like the logo, something about the golden helmet I don't like.

4. Washington Commanders- Use the burgundy! The white jersey is distgusting but the burgundy is one of the best ever! Screw tradition!

3. Green Bay Packers- Again these are all about tradition but the green on yellow does not work on a NFL like that. Really need a new name with a new logo, badly.

2. Dallas Cowboys- The 20 different shades of gray are only cool on the drawing board.

1. Cleveland Browns- Tradition!?!?! I don't care about tradition, get an identidy, get a logo on your helemet and don't have your primary logo be your helmet. The orange and brown has to go, for a look on brown jerseys, take a page out of Wyoming U's jerseys, or just scrape the name all together.

TOP FIVE BEST

5. Buffalo Bills- Now probably all of you think that I am crazy now, but I really like the 2 or 3 shades of blue. If you haven't been able to tell by now I liek the newer jerseys and monochrome is the way of the future!

4. Seattle Seahawks- I love the almost metallic blue monochrome and the blue with white pants. I'm not a fan of the away jerseys, but all the home combos are great. Also someone posted earlier about the hope of a lime green jersey, I'd be the first to buy it.

3. Oakland Raiders- Silver and black! All about tradition, but these actually look nice.

2. Cincinatti Bengals- I don't see why people give the new ones such a hard time? For your team to be named the Bengals, you almost have to have stripes because any other logo on the helmet would look silly, same with Eagles and Rams.

1. Atlanta Falcons- I loved the old look, it was amazing, but depending on what jerseys the Falcons of new wear, they are the best in the NFL. The Red with white pants in mediocre, but the red with black and the black with black is top notch, plus the logo rocks, the only bad thing about the previous ones.

lost limey said:
1. The Bengals - Went from a nice, unique set that while out there, wasn't too out there to a hideous mess. The white panels need to go, the Orange alt needs to be burned, and they need to change the stripes on the sleeves to being black on orange, not orange on black, and have them all sewn on or all screened on.

2. The Cardinals - Went form a nice understated set to a set that combines every modern fad in jerseys together with the retro element I hat the most, grey facemask. And then they went monochrome on top of it all.

3. The Bills - The Navy & Nickel aren't needed,a nd they so need a white helmet again. No to monochrome.

4. The Ravens. - Black & Purple do not look good together, neither does wearing the black lycra pants suits, and on top of that the number font sucks and the team area bunch of criminals.

5. The Cowboys - Anything these M[CENSORED] c[CENSORED] wear will always like the s[CENSORED] that proceeds from the very bowels of the dark prince Lucifer himself. The set should beburned with the team still in them, and the owner, and the stadium should be nuked from orbit.

5. Jacksonville - Boring! Bring back the 1995-96 unis... and eliminate the all-black look!

4. Dallas - Burn the current ones and bring back the double-star unis from 1994-95!

3. Denver - Won 2 Super Bowls in them and they still look ugly! Make the unis based one the ones from John Elway's early days.

2. Buffalo - Their unis are a total disgrace! Burn 'em to hell!! Bring back the unis that got them to 4 straight Super Bowls!

1. Seattle - 3 words: Worst! Unis! Ever! (Ha! Sounds like what Comic Book Guy from "The Simpsons" would say.) BURN 'EM DOWN, NOW!! Keep the logo but base the unis on the pre-2002 unis. Keep the "Seahawk Blue" helmet, too!

Thank you, I'll be here all week!

5. New Orleans Saints (match the golds, please).
4. Cincinnati Bengals (I like the identity the new unis create, but those white panels have to go).
3. Dallas Cowboys (match the blues, please).
2. New York Giants-new road jersey (it needs blue imo, it just looks unfinished).
1. Buffalo Bills (obviously)

mrdj13 said:
1. Tennesee. What a horrible helmet logo and color scheme.

2. Buffalo. Yikes.

3. Cowboys. I like their throwbacks, but their normal ones are just plain.

4. Cincy. The white under the arm just pisses me off.

5. Jax. We are gonig to look back at that in 20 years and just laugh. Teal? The Dolphins can pull it off. Jacksonville cannot.

Honorable Mention: That dude that mentioned the NYG white jersey was bad is right. AZ is bad and is just copying. I dont care for Denver's, they should wear more orange. Seatlle...yeah I dont care for them either.

here's the rundown on the cowboys un-uniform uniform:

1) the white jersey has royal blue numbers and stripes, while the blue jersey is navy

2) the white jersey has two thin royal stripes on each sleave, outlined in black. the navy jersey has this pattern on each sleave: thin white, very thick silver, thin white, with the star logo dead centre. give special attention to the black outline on the white jersey's sleave stripes. black dosn't appear anywhere else in the 'boys identity.

3) navy jersey has a "COWBOYS" wordmark under the collar, the white jersey dosn't.

4) the navy jersey has white numbers with a blue-silver outline. the white jersey has solid royal numbers.

5) the navy jersey has a silver-white-silver collar, the white jersey has a solid white collar

6) the cowboys have two versions of the same pant design. the pants that go with the white jersey are a green-like silver with royal-white-royal stripes. the road pants are blue-silver with navy-white-navy stripes.
the 'boys have two versions of silver pants with blue-white-blue stripes blink.gif

7) when in the white jerseys the 'boys wear roayl blue socks. in the navy jerseys they wear navy socks.

8) the shade of the silver in the helmet is a standard silver, different from the silver in either pants set.

basically the cowboys need to pick one shade of blue, one shade of silver, and one jersey design. i choose the double stars. they were a great update of the throwbacks they wear now.

ACCORDING TO YOUR VOTES....

I went through the entire post and awarded five points for each worst place vote, 4 for second worst, etc. I also awarded one point for everyone that voted but put them in "no particular order"

In addition I combined points for the same team but different jerseys. For instance, some people voted for the lions blue with black outline as being bad, some people voted for lions blacks. I combined those totals under "lions". (just so you know, the lions were 6th place overall, votes JUST for the black jerseys would have put them in 7th)

After spending 3 days counting and 2 hours of computer programming we have the following results*
The worst uniforms are as follows:

BILLS - 95 Points
BENGALS - 48 Points
COWBOYS - 41 Points ( I was surprised by this one)
CARDINALS - 36 Points
TITANS - 32 Points

Dishonorable Mention
Lions - 30 points
Seahawks - 26 Points

Teams Receiving ZERO points (so no one hates them)
Patriots (very much surprising)
Jets
Texans
Colts
Buccaneers
Fourty Niners

The moral of this story... Whoever designed the Bills uniforms should be beaten in the crotch with a cricket bat until sterile so they don't reproduce thier sick kind... AMEN

*It actually took 10 minutes to count

wow....maybe I'm biased. There's only one uniform for me. Plus, I get more phone numbers in my E. Smith throwback than all the guys with there, I want to be "Micheal Vick" jersey. Just my opinion.

It's sad when football fans turn into the guys from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

They're just damn uniforms. Who give's a crap what color or what logo a team has? I'd be okay with the Cowboys wearing pink and purple uniforms if it meant that we'd have a Super Bowl-bound team.

In defense of some of those guys, I have always wanted us to match the blues...

That being said, it's still the best uni in all of sports... BY FAR!

I dont know, I think its unique having 2 totally different sets of unis.

Only fitting the most important franchise is the only one to do that

Better than going color crazy like atl, tenn., or cincy

Many of the arguments against the 'boys unis are the same as the folks on here post. And I actually agree about throwing a little consistency into the unis. Doesn't make me love them any less, but I understand their viewpoint.

My mother knows nothing about football, but is known for her taste in style. She always says that the Cowboys have the best uniforms in football because they look so pristine, regal, and clean.

If that's good enough for her, it's good enough for me. :)
