I think a QB should be in the HOF if he has a great statistical career or makes big plays to win championships.
By that criteria there are a lot of QBs in the HOF that do not belong.

Warren Moon. Joe Namath. Sonny Jurgenson. Dan Fouts-borderline.
Norm Van Brocklin. Fran Tarkenton (always came up small in the big games).

Dan Marino set so many records I give him a pass on not being really good in playoffs. Peyton Manning the same. BUT I consider them 2nd Rung QBS. Just like Bradshaw who had a pedestrian stat career but did usuallymake plays in playoffs. Brady= kind of ambivalent about him- need to see down the road how not having the inside data affects his play. BUT realistically probably solidly first rung.

My personal list of top QBs through the years:
Sid Luckman
Sammy Baugh
YA Tittle
Otto Graham
Johnny Unitas
Bart Starr
Roger
Joe Montana
Troy- just barely but there
at the moment Brady

I put Tittle in there because but for unfortunately coming to the Giants at the same time as Lombardi's packers were at their peak he WOULD have had at least on Championship. ANd the 63 loss was really close to the Bears.

But all these other QBs won championships and made plays doing it and had very good to great statistical careers.
