I don't know if this has been discussed, but what's up with Montrae Holland? Has he been active at all this year? Our O-line depth is shot to hell(thanks Jerry:rolleyes: )

I'm all in favor for making a temporary switch with BIGG at LT and Holland at OG. Just to give Flo time to rest or whatever. He looks awful out there and looks broken down. This is the time last year where he started to fade.

Can't WAIT to draft a LT in 2010!

I think i heard Wade say in his pressor that he hasn't been active all year.

He's over in the asthma field keeping the grass at an acceptable height. Doing wonders for his bowel movements................

unbelievable. What a waste of a 5th rounder. He served zero purpose while he was here.

Nope, just the one.

The Cowboys have acquired guard Montrae Holland from the Broncos for a 5th round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. The 28-year old Holland is a huge guy at 6′2″, 322 pounds and he will likely bump Joe Berger from the starting job at left guard until Kyle Kosier is ready to return. Holland played in 16 games (all starts) with the Broncos last season and he played pretty well for them. He has now played 5 seasons in the NFL covering 68 games, 46 of which he started. A fifth round pick for a starting lineman equals a good deal for the Cowboys.

Holland hasn't been active because he can't play center. That doesn't mean he wouldn't be starting at guard if either Davis or Kosier got hurt. That's his purpose.

We only have two backup linemen active during games because of other roster considerations: Proctor because he can step in temporarily at guard and center, and Free for the two tackle spots. (Because Free will be starting, McQuistan will likely take his spot as the backup tackle.)

If Free fails at right tackle, it's a good possibility that we would go with Davis in that spot and Holland at guard in the next game. Again, that's why Holland is here, to provide a solid veteran option so we don't end up having to start Proctor at guard again because of a line injury.

The only disappointment I've had with Holland is that he never got to the point of understanding the scheme where he could help us last year, and then when he did (and showed he could play well), he got hurt.

Adams had one bad game.

Holland can play tackle though? I'd feel better having him in Colombo's spot than McQ.

What is it with people wanting to move Bigg to tackle today? He is a guard. Period. You think he can play tackle? Ask the people in Arizona how that worked out.

Davis was a Pro Bowl alternate all but one season in Arizona. He didn't live up to his draft status, but he still was a good left tackle. He's just better at guard.

I think we can all agree he may not be a top 10 LT but he sure as hell is the best option we have if Flo goes down considering Free has to play RT.

He started a couple of games at the end of last yr, and actually looked pretty good.

He's a dependable backup who has starting experience, and costs very little. I dont see why you are jumping off the ledge over this.

How about Bigg at RT and Holland at RG?

Someone on GAC was saying today that Bigg wasn't comfortable at all with the footwork at RT. LT, no problem, but not RT.

That doesn't make much sense.

I know Leonard Davis had some expected difficulties adjusting to playing on the right side after signing with the Cowboys, but it's natural to him now.

I would think RT would be an easier adjustment for Bigg than sliding over to the left side would be.

Well what the **** has he done?

Spare me. Started 2 games. WOW! He hasn't even been active this whole season. AKA waste.
