just sooo glad Coale cleared waivers. A few weeks of practice, and if he is what they think he his, he may get a callup.

Holmes is unimpressive. Don't know what it is about him.

He's 6'4-6'5 therefor he is the next Calvin Johnson, duh.

Holmes.is.a.bum

It's actually so disrespectful that people are comparing him to Miles Austin. At least Austin showed glimpses of hope early in his career.

Holmes is a big-bodied, injury prone wide receiver who doesn't know how to use his size to his advantage. Doesn't seem like the brightest guy either.

I hope we sign that WR from the Giants.

remember when they were trying to hide miles

and he managed to get a touchdown against the saints anyway?

Yeah, and I also remember when Andre Holmes did nothing on the field when he had opportunities.

Andre Holmes is just another example of the Cowboys organization overvaluing their own players IMO.

but then he doesn't get to practice
And I've got a bridge in Brooklyn that I'll let go real cheap. Patsy have a history of doing that too.

Holmes is being given every chance, but my money is bet that Danny Coale will prove to be the eventual better of the two. Give him full health and a little time to show what he's got... we'll see him on the game day field soon enough, I'm believing.

So glad we were able to sign Coale to the PS. :)
Yep, to me he was disappointing and showed that he wasn't reliable. I think Romo is going to have the most success with the reliable guys that are always going to be where they are suppose to be and catch the ball. And if Coale were a slow footed possession receiver then I would not be as high on him. But the guy is a much better athlete than given credit for.

Andre Holmes is being given every chance to make the team because of his measurables, we can all see that, but my money is bet that Danny Coale will prove to be the eventual better of the two:
1. Better overall WR skills; more versatile
2. Greater overall positive impact for the team
Give Danny a chance to practice and play at full health... a sustained period of time to continue to improve and show what he has to offer... and I'm truly believing we will see him in the WR rotation on the game day field, soon enough.

Not meaning to (overly) dog Holmes but I'm really very happy we were able to sign Coale to the PS. :)

I agree. He seems slow to me. Like Eli slow.

He is a long strider who lacks quickness or suddenness. Yet he runs a decent 40 so the FO thinks they can get explosiveness, speed, size and skill in one package. The only problem is Holmes has only one of those qualities which is size which he doesn't know how to use on the field. I don't understand the FO's fascination with him as he doesn't look like an NFL player. Miles Austin was the small school WR who we turned into an NFL star but he looked like a player even before he really knew how to play the position - it was just his inconsistent hands that drove us crazy as fans. You could see his size, his strength, his ability to catch with his hands and his football speed on full display.

I think Holmes is released and put back on the PS at some point this season and Coale ends up being called up to the 53-man roster. We just lucked out that no one plucked him. He won't last the season there before someone realizes that one their WRs isn't progressing as they had hoped.

You guys are being way too harsh on Holmes, as if he was to contribute this year. He is not. He's a bottom of the roster guy with a skill set that they think they might be able to work with. He's a low risk/ high reward type. Every team holds onto a guy like this.

100% agree. A raw, prospect, bottom of the roster guy, that Dallas is hoping to develop. Very comical to see all the ranting and raving over Holmes.

Holmes will NEVER score a TD for the Cowboys.

Dallas kept Holmes at the expense of losing a WR in Coale who was productive at a respected college football program, or a pass rusher in Hamilton who showed glimpses of being able to get to the QB, something Dallas had trouble with last year.
