Funny. I'm sure similar words were spoken when a particular safety signed a contract in Dallas a few years ago...

Exactly, sometimes i wonder what some people are smokin on lately! ;)

There goes the Idea of resigning Hamlin to a decent contract, Oh, well, at least we have Watkins.

Anyone who cant recognize his talent is laughable. He's steady plugging up holes.
I'm not saying he isn't talented. Obviously, he is. But some people here were even putting him in the DPOY discussion. That's just silly. He's overrated. That doesn't mean he doesn't have talent.

Who would you have as your DPOY??

I think Sanders is worth it. I have not seen him play alot but the times i have, he is everywhere. And i think Hamlin will be worth whatever he makes.

The most overrated player in the NFL is and has been for the last 3 years is our starting Strong Safety. But your right about talent. Bob has it and then some. Roy had it and then gave it back to Jesus.

If you don't think Sanders is very good, you might want to check the difference between the Colts "d" minus Sanders and with him....he is an impact player.

amazing how me makes their secondary that much better. i have no idea who plays corner for the colts.

Sanders deserves a nice deal but honestly is he better than Ed Reed?
That's debatable. Its hard to compare them cause of their size and style. Reed's height allows him to make more big play INT's(he's had nearly double this season as Sanders has his entire career), but Sanders is a little tazmanian devil with his stops running all over the field. There's not a pretty run stuffing safety than him. That being said, I think Sanders is alot more valuable to his D than Reed is to his.

Tell me about it. the guy is not that big, but boy can the guy hit.. in every defensive play for the colts, ur always gonna see bob around the ball. hes a ball hawk something like reed for the Ravens.

A ball hawk? Not quite. I don't think he is much in coverage, either. Of course in this era of NFL offenses few safeties especially strong safeties who are great in coverage.

Sanders has 4 career interceptions with 2 coming this season. He has forced 2 fumbles in his career with 0 this season. He has recovered 3 fumbles in his career with 0 the last two seasons. He has 11 passes defended in his career with 6 coming this season. Those numbers don't support a ball hawk type player.

You need to see his highlight film to really see how great he is.

:laugh2: this coming from the biggest roy fan/defender on this board.

When Sanders came on last year at the end of the season, the Colts improved a hell of a lot better defensively. Yes, he is an impact player.

Sometimes a players impact is not quantifiable by stats.

I agree. In this case I think the stats do tell something about Sanders with respect to him being a ball hawk. A ball hawk gets or creates turnovers. At least that is how I see it to be defined. Sanders does not get a lot of interceptions or recover a lot of fumbles nor cause a lot of fumbles. That does not mean is he not a good player or even an impact player. It just means he is not a ball hawk.
