I guess reporters want to create a new scandal (not Romo related) since Glenn is coming back. With both Glenn and T.O. on the field, reporters will love a story about Owens blowing up because he is not getting the ball enough. I feel the story is coming.

If you do, you're too far gone to even continue this conversation. He has no business being on ANY news program, let alone a SPORTING program. His only credentials is that he's got something like the 20th biggest baseball card collection in the northeast. Never played the game. So I click the link for the FULL story and it's this...

In the previous seven, he had averaged seven receptions and 123 yards per game and scored 11 touchdowns. "We got to pay attention to detail, and I'm sure the coaches will see that," Owens said Monday morning. "I mentioned it to [receivers coach Ray Sherman]. You know it's not a matter of guys doubling and triple-teaming me. I feel like in certain situations, I can outrun coverage." The first thing says TO isn't upset. The headline is that he's grumbling. Then the second story says he isn't happy, then the REAL story says he's not upset.

Dallas + Owens upset = ratings.


It doesn't matter if Owens is truthfully upset or not, if the media can make it *appear* that he's upset, it will draw viewers, readers, web site clicks, etc.

Truthful and quality reporting was replaced by getting viewers and readers in the sports media a long time ago. The only thing that we can do about it is to ignore it, file complaints with the media sources that do this, and hopefully one day some media source will realize that sports fans do want truthful and quality reporting over sensationalism.
