Watching Monday night football the announces were praising the packers for their home grown talent (tied with the Panther for the most in the NFL). This got me curious about our home grown talent. Surprisingly, the Cowboys have 41 players drafted or signed as UDFA. Of the 12 FA's, 8 are on the offense including 5 on the OL. In the age of FA Jerry has shown considerable restraint over the past couple years. I hope this trend continues. the scouting staff has proven to be much better at finding talent out of College than in FA.

Yep... Which makes us a contender as long as we have a Quarterback.

How about the Josh Price Brent pickup this year? Sam Young as a potential starter one day too.

It's amazing when you think our starting QB, and WR were UDFA's.

Then you throw in 7th rounders Jay Ratliff, Alan Ball, along with role players like Hurd, Ogletree and others, and they have done a great job at acquiring talent in area's other than using premium picks.

When you can find starting talent on day 2 and 3, it takes away some of the sting of wasted draft picks like Carpenter and giving up a 1st and 3rd for a WR.
