Alright, I'm here to man up and admit that you had the better team sunday night.
Here's some thoughts for you, to let you know what Commander Nation is thinking. A) Get Brunell the hell outta there. He just isn't any good. He was underthrowing, overthrowing, underleading, overleading... 25 QB rating (last i heard) and double digit yards, not acceptable. Anyone can throw a screen or a little RB hitch, just put Campbell in and call this a rebuilding year. We've got far too much young talent here at skill positions to be wasting their best years with him. B) 700 pages of an offensive playbook is a helluva lot of different screens and hitches. You aren't using our receiving corps at all, much less to their best ability. How are you supposed to stretch a defense if you dont pass further then 5 yards away from scrimmage??? C) We need Portis to be even remotely successful.
That is all...

An honest fan that doesn't really understand the Champ situation very well.

Champ and the FO were at odds and it was clear we wouldn't resign him as we let him seek a trade very early. Which is why we traded Champ and a 2nd rounder for Portis.

Can't blame him with the coaching carousel we had on defense when he was a Skin.
They traded a shutdown corner and 2nd rd draft pick for a running back. A very good running back, but he is still a running back.

How many shutdown corners are in the league and how many good running backs are out there.

At the least Washington should have been the team receiving the high pick in that trade.

I'd be more worried about the D than the O if I were a Skins fan. It's supposed to be the strength of the team and the only reason they won anything last year. Offense sucked last year too.

I agree, I don't see how they can continually trade away draft picks and overpay fa's without it coming back to bite thme in the butt eventually.

Unfortunately for you, this was the type of offense run by Saunders in KC. He threw a lot of passes to the TE and backs. He threw few passes to the WR's. The strength of your offense is the WR's. I don't know if you have the right personnel to run Saunders' offense, and I dont' know if Saunders is flexible enough to change his offense to match you personnel.

I'll say this, though. One good game and their (the team's, not the fans') outlook is a little different.

'Tis the pendulum swinging in the NFL.

I think Saunders will be just fine, he is a damn good OC and him and Gibbs come from a similar background. Portis will make a big difference....Cowboys just didn't have to respect their run game.

I agree about Bailey though, and the receiving core...overpaid for unproven guys. But at least they got Portis for Bailey, Portis is a pretty darn good player.
