Saban, Crennel and Belichick use the same approach as Parcells, and I believe they use it for a reason. They're pretty smart guys.
People just act like you can rest a player another week or two and he'll be 100%. That's way too simplistic. The truth is, on things like groin tears and high ankles sprains, players aren't going to be 100% until the sometime in February. If you rested every player in the NFL until they're 100%, they'll be 5 on 5 football games played on Sunday. Do you think Julius has some miracle healing from the Washington game to the Carolina game where he went from 80% to 100% in the course of 5 days after suffering the injury 10 weeks ago?
