Is this the first of many or an exclusive deal for UT?

I would imagine that other schools will try to emulate this. They would be foolish not to and ESPN would likewise, be foolish not to take advantage of these opportunities. However, I'd imagine that you would have to have the same kind of Fan Base Texas does and the resources Texas does to make the deal viable. Unlikely that every school will be able to do this.

I believe OU has plans to try and do the same kind of thing but as far as I understand, they are a few years away yet.

I like the Big Ten model of showing all the conference games, classic games from the conference, etc, etc.

the manner in which the big ten attempts to level the playing field is far better then the big 12 method of coddling the top teams.

I'm an SEC and Pac-10 guy, but I would most certainly watch a Big XII Network 500,000,000 times over before watching Big Ten's garbage programs play on the Big Ten Network.

Does this mean that everyone who hates Notre Dame because of how "greedy" they are have to now start hating Texas too? :D

fortunately, you are in the minority, which is why a big 10 network exists and the big 12 is falling by the wayside.

We'll see how the new Horn network goes. One kind of has to let it get started before dissmissing it completely.

Check w/ us in the next 2 years. We can compare #'s.

Texas has a great following, but it's not going to be a national channel like the big 10 network is. The lack of parity is the biggest problem with the big 12, and these types of top heavy business ventures will only worsen that problem.

Texas will become even richer, while teams like Iowa State fall further behind.

Agreed. We need some more OOMPH in the Big12 or it will mostly likely fail in the next 5-6 years if they stay at 10.

I have no CLUE who they should go after.

I was all for TCU until the BE move. Heck I would even be for inviting Boise Smurfs to the conference.

Anything to get something back in the conference.

Texas and Oklahoma really do make the conference w/ one of the other teams getting hot once or 2 every 10 years or so.

The Big12 needs more.

But that's not Texas fault. ISU has to step it's game up.
