A punt returner during the playoffs. I really think he could give us a spark and help give the team better field position. I also wish theyd run the jet sweep with Dez, I think he would be much better than Lucky.

We need it i mean people say injury but look what Beckum and Antonio Brown do for their team and when in need provide a big play.

I would not mind seeing Dez return punts if he is 100% healthy. Not sure he is fast enough for the Jet sweep though.

He might be better than Lucky. But don't expect him to be nearly the threat that Beckham is in NY. Or Antonio Brown in Pitt. They are far more dangerous players with the ball in their hands.

But ya, it's the playoffs. Put your best guys in there.

He might be slower than those 2 in playoffs but Dez's punt returns are more about being patient setting up the block than out running everybody.

Dez is very capable of breaking off huge PR, the problem is it takes too many hits and he doesn't always use the best judgement when it comes to fielding the ball.

I haven't seen anything from Dez this year to indicate he would be able to create a big play in the return game. I haven't seen any sign of open field Dez since 2014... the zigging and zagging TD against Jacksonville comes to mind. He is still hard to bring down, but that's about it.

I like the concept, but I don't think Dez's feet are quick enough anymore, nor are his cuts as sharp as 2 yrs ago.

You've probably noticed that he doesn't get the separation he used to, and doesn't get as open.

Also, with the recent injury history and our lack of talented depth at receiver, it don't think any potential benefit outweighs the risk.

You know, I kinda like both of those ideas.

Dez is still very good but his impact is lessened in Dallas' current offensive make-up. They're a run first, pound you, spread the ball around unit and losing Dez to injury would be less impactful than it would have in the past.

Of course he could get hurt on a punt return but honestly, the odds are pretty low and he really can provide a spark.

Good post. I thought about this same thing a couple-three weeks ago and wished they would have done it then. I didn't think about using Dez on the jet sweep but I like that idea too.

Kudos. Most ideas on here are dumb.

I think he has lost a step since he last returned punts.
