Woody Johnson and Stephen Jones were just chatting. Seemed to agree that it's likely WK 1 #Jets #Cowboys game will be postponed or canceled.

WAY too early to be talking like this; not even June yet.

I predict, much like Kampman, that we will have a full season and no delays. But I will be right.

I have heard that it is possiable that the league could push the start of the season back Oct. 2. I hope like everyone else that the season starts on time but they do have some leeway. It likely would mean there would be on bye week during the season or a bye week of the SB

According to a report last week by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the NFL has already made plans for a possible delay in the start of the season. According to Schefter, next year's schedule leaves open the prospect that there could be no games the first three weeks of the season. However, it would still allow for all 16 regular-season to be played.

The NFL season is scheduled to start on Sept. 8, with a full slate of games on Sept. 11-12. That means the league could start the season as late as Oct. 2. The Super Bowl can also be pushed back a week. Right now it's scheduled for Feb. 5, 2012.

good idea to make plans. does not mean they will be needed.

After last season, I wouldn't pencil in any wins just yet. Which team blew chunks and started a disastrous 1-7? Which team couldn't even score more than 7 points against the Skins in the opener? I hope the Cowboys aren't taking anything for granted and thinking like you that they can just show up and win.

Won't happen, though that is maybe the toughest game on our schedule.

Toughest?

I imagine that the Eagles, Patriots and Giants games will be even tougher.

No way they're doing that.

Maybe the Patriots, but the Jets will be head and shoulders above the Giants and Eagles

didnt bring it up before because it is heresay but i have some contacts at ESPN that told me 2 weeks or so back that NFL has told ESPN to prepare alternative programming for september and to plan on the season starting in october.

so this is not surprising.

The game is on 9-11 in NYC. Does the NFL really want that rep?

I'm sure they would like the schedule to stay as is but if a deal can't get done in that time then you do what you have to do.
