:starspin Now that Williams will not be an option for us, I hope we hear something fairly soon about what Capers is going to do. Perhaps Jones is waiting until after the Pro Bowl before he tries again to sway Capers into joining us.

I would think that if it takes someone this long to decide, he doesn't REALLY want to be here. So, "See Ya!!!" Capers, the boat will keep on trucking woth or without you.

He was said to have contacted Stewart to see how he felt about him coming here. With Stewart reportedly saying he wouldn't be comfortable with it, I think you can say goodbye to Capers.

Yeah, he isn't exactly jumping at this job. I'm sure it would be different if the actual DC job was open.

If it takes this long to decide if you want to coach with the Boyz, it really means that you are not that interested.

This, "let me see what other offers pop up and I will get back to you" is total crap.

If I was Jerry, I would tell Capers to give me a yes or no by Monday morning.

Stewart may have just sealed his own fate. We get bounced early from the playoffs next year, Wade and his boy Stew are first ones out the door.

You think Garrett is going to keep Stew once Wade is shown the door? I dont think so.;)

He will only be a consultant. Personally, it doesn't matter if he comes or not.

It should matter.

Jerra has decided that tweedle dee and tweedle dumr (Wade and Stewart need oversight.
Enter Capers who would have two duties in various times: provide the oversight in the short term and step in as DC if needed.

I think Jerra does not trust Wade and Stewart with his billion-dollar team and wants Capers or someone of his ilk to keep an eye on things.

I think that's a little over-the-top. "Things" like the Defense, that I can go with. He's a fantastic DC. Capers track record w/ the Texans shows he should just stick to what he does best and that means running the D. I'd trust Wade more in providing oversight than Capers.....

Dom Capers, the solution to all of life's problems.

According to this report:

Capers to choose Cowboys or Giants

Posted: Wednesday February 06, 2008 06:31AM ET

Dom Capers remains in the mix for the Cowboys, mulling an offer to become either the defensive coordinator or a defensive consultant. But Capers could wait to see what happens with Giants coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. Spagnuolo, a hot name after holding the NFL's top three offenses to a total of 51 points in the playoffs, interviewed for the Commanders head coaching job Tuesday. If Spagnuolo gets the job, it would put New York coach Tom Coughlin, who has ties to Capers, on the hunt for a new defensive coordinator.

Would Wade take a demotion next year if JG is promoted to HC? Or would he promoted to the front office?
