Yes, 12-4 and a deep playoff run would be great, but that's not what the thread title means.

After only four years, the Cowboys are replacing the original turf at Cowboys Stadium with a brand spanking new one. Not sure why, because that seems like a pretty short lifespan for what's probably a dadgum expensive piece of fake grass and rubber.

Regardless, I'd like to make a request. This time, can we please make sure that it's green?

The first rug had a strange bluish tint, that was a lot more visible in person than on TV. Much like our green pants that should be gray, our blue field should be green.

Baltimore and Cincinnati have awesome looking fields. Bright green, like a fairway at Augusta. I think most everyone prefers watching sunny, outdoor games on well-manicured fields over dingy, antiseptic indoor fields that look like they were rented by the hour for youth soccer.

Sure, you need indoor here because of the extreme weather variances, but with the windows and roof at Cowboys Stadium, you can have a much brighter game. And that starts with a more attractive field. Other indoor stadiums manage to pull it off.

Too much moolah was spent on that cathedral to have a blah field.

How bout some natural grass? If Arizona can do then we should be able to as well. Might be expensive though?

Wouldn't work here. We get both deep freezes and extreme heat, unlike Arizona and Houston. It'd be brown November on. And winter rye grass is too slick to play on.

Come on, Dallas has a lot better climate than a lot of other places that have natural grass. They could absolutely have a good grass field here if they wanted to.

It would never happen because the fake stuff is cheaper, easier, and can accommodate 10 games in a weekend plus concerts and other events.

The new fake stuff is padded. The old stuff was basically indoor/outdoor carpet on concrete.

The old stuff seemed awfully slick as well. There were guys slipping constantly on that surface.

Hopefully the new one will have better traction.
