should have been more...

Malcolm Williams dropped a TD. Colt threw an INT just before the half, on a pass to Kirkendall, as the Horns were driving. Williams dropped another deep pass in the second half.

I cannot recall if Texas scored on the drive, but on one pass, Shipley was wide open on the sideline and Colt underthrew him a bit. Shipley caught it and got decent YAC....but if Colt hits him in stride, it is a Touchdown.

Oh and UT missed a FG.

Well Baylor beat Mizzou...so that is good for UT. It gets them mentally prepared not to overlook the Bears next week.

Kansas sucks, but still, you cannot discount their offensive potency.

I cannot believe A&M lost to Colorado. They were winning in that game by 2 scores for much of it. Then I see the ticker at the bottom of the screen and they lose by 1.

.

Well, the Buffs took control of the game in the second half by running the football effectively IMO. I was a bit surprised by this score as well but you gotta hand it to the Buffs. They can run the ball.

In all probability, Texas will be playing K-State for the Big 12 Championship. I'm not at all enthused by the prospect of this match up. K-State has been a bane to Texas over the years -- from knocking out Colt McCoy in 2006 to bludgeoning the Longhorns at home in 2007. Aren't they the only Big 12 Team with a winning record against the Longhorns?

For the record, Colt should have never gotten hurt on that play. Their RB scored on 3rd down, but the refs didnt give it to him, nor did they use replay to even check out the call. Colt then did a QB sneak on 4th down and scored, but also got hurt in the process. Jevan Snead replaced him and KSU teed off on the Horns.

well Texas has played 126 different opponents in the history of the school. They have a losing record against 18 of them. Of those 18, 11 of the records are 0-1.

The 3 teams that have dominated them the most of the 18 are

ND 2-8
Vanderbilt 3-8-1 (haven't played them since 1928)
USC 1-4

If Landry Jones remains the starting QB at OU, I can see this record turning markedly in our favor over the next few years.

South
KU 7-0 (play in 2 weeks)
ISU 6-0
Mizzou 7-1
Nebraska 6-0 (regular season), 1-1 (Big 12 Championship)
Colorado 6-2
KSU 2-4

This needs to change, starting the Big 12 Title game!

Is Nebraska's defense this dominant? Or is Landry Jones simply this bad?

I concur, especially when that win comes in USCs backyard, against their two Heisman trophy winners, and it won us a nice crystal football.....

Give credit where credit's due, the DB made a great break on that ball... Kirkendoll looked to be open, and Colt put it in there, the defender just zipped in from out of nowhere...

Oh and UT missed a FG.

That was a lousy kick, wasn't it??

No wonder it was so quite here in Bryan/College Station yesterday. I had to close at work and I thought a&m had won.

As far as the Horns go Colt not running the ball anymore is going to get us killed sooner or later, that and the fact that our oline can't run block to save their arse.

we can run block, it is just that we are not using the proper scheme to do so. these are Texas boys. I promise you, they can run block.

Give me the I formation, both normal and offset. Give me Cody Johnson as FB and one of those little fast guys as RB. Run off tackles, counters, tosses, and sweeps.

Give me the split backfield. Run tosses, sweeps, draws, etc.

The Spread formation is great for passing, but it makes our running game suffer. Remember how Charles struggled, until we lined up in a conventional running style? He exploded...and eventually left to go pro. Williams and Benson ran behind convention formations and lit it up.
