It's also a fan's prerogative to disagree with you. You keep quoting anyone with a different opinion.

Why does it upset you so much?

it doesn't upset me...lol it upsets you, I asked why do you care. There's a difference. I'm not the one calling out the players for trying to explain why the use it and trademark it.

If "being themselves" means they care more about self promotion than winning?

Sorry, I have a problem with that.
who said they care more about branding? that's what you call it, this is a small part of what they do. they spend countless hours doing football and anything else the cowboys have them doing, from going to hospitals, showing up for charities. Its part of the game and business

Bull.
Peeps ragging on the players upset you, or you wouldn't be white-knighting them.

And you're upset players have personalities so you've decided to act like an edgelord on an internet message board.

It is a huge part of what they do. It even bleeds into the games where imbeciles like Smith self-promote for their own interests. During the season, the branding effort is full force. Even after an embarrassing 2019, they are still concerned about it. If the big thing for Lawrence right now is the Hot Boyz name, yes, that is an issue.

Branding should come about as a product of winning and it is bestowed upon them by others because they earned it. You can't manufacture it by being mediocre and promoting it endlessly. But these clowns are sure going to try.

Hotboyz lifestyle : The simple 3 step plan.
1 : Get dressed in the dark.
2 : Miss a ton of tackles and celebrate extravagantly regardless of the score if/when You actually make one.
3 : Keep banging on about how great You are on social media and promoting Your stupid self-anointed nickname, whilst being cheerfully oblivious to all the scorn and derision that this engenders.

That is part of the problem. It explains why opponents in big games wipe the floor with the Cowboys. And ownership actively helps these players continue that behavior because ultimately it pays off for them as well.

There is a reason that when this team flies under the radar that they can block out the noise and win more.

The problem is Owner not staying out of Football matters. no matter what there's always going to be noise surrounding the team, that wont stop, because the owner doesn't want it to stop. whether its branding or not, the cowboys keep a lot of people within and outside the organization employed
