House fire + ATT = SUCKS!!!

So my family's house burned down in the Bastrop fire. I was living out there temporarily and now I'm living out of hotels while the family is staying in their RV. I found an apartment but the complex only has AT&T u-verse. I went in last friday to set up my service and as of today, my u-verse account hasn't gone through. The previous tenant was still in the system and they couldn't bypass it. They've talked to my complex multiple times, i've gone in a few times, and had several phone calls. This is rediculous. Why does AT&T suck soooo bad?!?!? It's been a week and you still can't put my order through?!?!?! Now they're saying if they can get it through, it may not be until the 11th before I can get service!!!

Insurance is coming through so going to be better off after than before. It's the AT&T thing that's been the bigger headache.

My tv and all has been turned off for two days and all I can get out of them is I have not payed my bill since I signed up. I was told they were bundled into one bill. So I have been paying for three phones but they are showing different account number for TV.

Yeah. I typed three things before I settled on incorrect grammar in that post.

Not the first time I've done that. The grammar in my sig was screwed up for several weeks up until yesterday.

I'm generally pretty good with it, but lately I've been slacking. :/

Big corporations basically hold the little guy hostage. A class action lawsuit is about the only thing that levels the playing field. If it weren't for lawyers filing class actions, it would be even worse. The only other thing that corporations that are monopolies, or oligopolies are afraid of (in the utility context) are regulatory agencies. They really don't want the corporation commission (or your state's equivalent) looking up their *****.

Many consumer protection laws cannot be "contracted around". By way of example you cannot contractually waive the minimum wage requirement, the protection of OSHA rules and regulations, usury laws, etc.
