I'm right in the middle of it. I've got fires to the northeast and the south of me. I haven't been evacuated yet, so that's good news. The air is bad, smoke hazing out the sun. I didn't sleep much latest night, watching over my home. The moon was as orange as a pumpkin. It kind of felt like the the end of the world.

If you have to evacuate, do you have somewhere you can go?

Prayin for your safety man... I'll add em to the ones for my school. The students and faculty were evacuated to the fieldhouse and student center because of the Malibu Canyon fire. It damaged one perimeter building, but most of the campus was unscathed.

I remember one fire that came right up to the highway next to our apartment when I was living there. One side of the highway was evacuated, and our side would have been had it jumped the 101.

The first time i saw that smoke in the sky over the sun was about the most bizarre thing I think I've ever seen. The sun was blood red, and the shadows on the ocean made the water look still.

It was also pretty weird driving through the pass and seeing the side of the mountain on fire. It looked like a different planet.

Thank you all. I'll keep safe. I own my possessions, they don't own me. I decided if I have to evacuate, i'm heading to Vegas, but I'm not leaving until I actually see the fire on the ridge. I think we'll be alright here and won't need to. At present the wind is pushing the fire away

Yes the fire has threatened Bonita, but i believe the town is safe for now. I'm up in coastal north county and threatened by the Witch Creek Fire (what a name for a fire).

My other cousin is in Poway area, so he is part of that Witch Creek Fire.
