when healthy, they have a nice offense. Schaub and Johnson are a sweet combo. I believe Mathis got hurt, which stinks. Jacoby Jones isn't ready to step up just yet. Owen Daniels is a very nice TE. I think if they can add a solid #2 WR and an actual starting RB to the equation, they will be formidable for defenses to face.

Jacoby Jones got injured and really hasn't gotten into the flow of the offense. Very explosive player tho. Kevin Walters and Andre Davis were pretty solid while Johnson was out. Both were good for my ff team, too. :)

They definitely need a running back. I could see them cutting Green in the offseason.

Their defense isn't bad, either. Still need some pieces in their secondary, but their d-line is coming along.

Please (no offense intended).

This team sucks. Johnson is a hell of a player and their best by far. But they have a crap O-Line and zero running game.

On D, their best player -- Dunte Robinson -- is gone and the only other player worth a crap is the MLB from Alabama. Mario Williams is a bust -- period.

This is one of the worst franchises in the league and will continue to be.

Other than that, it's all good for the Loopers.

No offense taken. I don't agree. They're not complete suckage... Miami, Oakland, that's suckage.

Texans are a .500 team and could be better if their defense could've held up in some games. Still got a ways to go, but they look nothing like the 2-14 team from two years ago. If nothing else, they look competitive for a change.

WG, I disagree a bit. I will use a different spin on it. If Johnson stays healthy, I see the Texas having 7-8 wins right now. Unfortunately, he got hurt, and then the offense began to sputter. Then, Schaub got hurt. Also, Green and some of the other WRs have been injured as well.

Mario Williams isn't a bust. He has had a nice year this year, not great, but nice. I think if they can get him someone on the other side, he will blow it up.

IMO, it would be in Houston's best interest to lose out, and then get someone like Chris Long to play opposite of Williams. That would have the potential to be one of the best DE tandems in the NFL.

Andre Johnson is their most valuable asset, a top five wideout, simply outstanding as a receiver.

Schaub is serviceable but not spectacular, such is the Houston tradition outside of Warren Moon (think Dan Pastaroni), he certainly doesn't merit 48 million dollar.

The rest of the team is MIA.

I'd love Johnson in a Cowboy uniform however, think they''d take two first rounders for him?

Texans are missing Dunta Robinson, so that's got to be felt on D

things are looking up though, I'm not a Texan, so I dont' really care if they're good or not, never really got into the rivalry

seriously. it's a one-sided rivalry and it's coming from them. Cowboy fans really could care less about them. In fact, I know many Cowboy fans in Texas that root for them simply because they are in Texas.

Living in Houston as you do I'm no Texan fan but they are a decent team who may not be that far from contending for a playoff spot in the very near future. No doubt O-line is Houston biggest problem as well as the need for quality RB. I'm still going to root against them but I don't think they are all that bad.

The Texans are average...

with a few exceptions such as Johnson who is a great player and Robinson who plays hard every play. Their FG kicker is reliable and their punter as well although he looked like a idiot in San Diego.

Mario Williams hasn't done much. He has one good game and then 3 where you never hear his name called.

Ryans is a very good LB but he had a better rookie year than this year. At least in the games I've seen.

Schaub is good but anybody is an upgrade over Carr. At least they got rid of that albatross.

The fans in Houston are already talking playoffs after their huge victory over the Saints. Not this year!

Yup, I agree. They aren't horrible but they aren't going to the playoffs either.

I agree the odds are Houston will not see the playoffs but I will say this weekend’s game vs Cleveland will be big for the Texan. A win and they keep themselves alive

Houston 5-5 final 6 games
@ Cleveland
@ Tennessee
Tampa Bay
Denver
@Indy
Jacksonville

Had the Texans been better at drafting this could be their possible team

QB Vince Young, Chris Simms
RB Clinton Portis, Dominique Davis, Wali Lundy
FB Madison Hedgec0ck
WR Andre Johnson, Jerome Mathis, Marques Colston, Jacoby Jones, Dallas Baker
TE Randy McMichael, Owen Daniels, Jeb Putzier
OT Max Starks, FA
OG Derrick Dockery, Fred Weary
C Seth McKinney

DE Aaron Kampman, Jared Allen, David Pollack, Bobby McCray
DT Amobi Okoye, Chad Lavalais, Kwame Brown
LB Lance Briggs, Demeco Ryans, Andra Davis
CB DeMarcus Faggins, Dunta Robinson, Nathan Vasher, Von Hutchins
S Ken Hamlin, Bob Sanders

I think this lineup would be very tough to deal with.......it sure would make it a lot more likely that we could see an all Texas SB.....but......it didn't happen.

You can go back to every team and say if they had drafted this way they'd be unbeatable.

that lineup is far from unbeatable, but they sure would be far more competitive.....and i know u can do that with every team.....i just think casserly made a lot of bad moves......not as much in the draft, as with the signing of FAs.

Casserly is the biggest mistake the Texans have ever made.

Well they signed Green to a huge contract this offseason...he's on the wrong side of 30 and is hurt every other game. Huge mistake.

Kubiak has a very hard time with clock management despite being in the league for many years. I'm not that impressed with him so far.

Their street free agents have played better than most of their high draft choices..not a good thing.

They're middle of the pack just as I said.

He's an Aggie, telling time has never been their strong suit, I do recall in 1998 Dallas contemplated interviewing him but settled for Chan Gailey instead, just as well since he would've probably been run off in two or three seasons himself.

I think we tried to interview him and he turned it down. :(
