Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing reportedly signed a six-year contract extension with the team on Tuesday. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the deal was set to take place:

Cushing's extension is for six years, thru 2019, and worth $55.643 million, with $21 million guaranteed.

Your not kidding Cushing 6 years for 55 mill while Lee is 6 years for 42 mill with a chance to increase to 51.

It just seems like our front office has learned through a lot of hard knocks how to manage the cap, when to sign players, who not to sign, etc. On that note I hope they are right on Spencer.

I think Cushing is overrated and overpaid. IMO that is a player that Texans defense can live without. I would have saved the cap space for JJ Watt instead.
