How about Holt

How come Holt is never mentioned in a trade for us. It's always Roy Williams I read on CBssportsline that the coach that was recently fired was actually interested in trading him. I know he is getting up there but he would be perfect as a number 2 come at a cheaper price then Roy Williams. Besides the chage of scenery would help my fantasy team

Oh he's been suggested believe me.

I'm the numero uno supporter for it to happen too.

He just turned 32, which is kinda up there. I think if Jerry wants to get someone, he's going to look for someone he won't have to replace in 3-4 years or less.

Could you imagion. CHAMPIONSHIP!!! I am no great talent evaluator but a late 2nd, say the last pick in the rd, would be justified with a championship ring. I could live with that. Especially the way this team has been finding talent in the later rds.

Why? You could draft a WR in next years draft and he might not be here in 3-4 yrs. This team has the talent t o win it this year. Holt is an elite talent that could seal it

We are not going to 'stunt the growth' of our receivers. The team likes the way Austin is coming along, and Hurd is a good #4. Why do you think we will trade for a #2 receiver, when we have enough offensive weapons? Unless Jerry wants to make sure he's covered in case an injury occurs (T.O., Witten), we will stand pat IMO!!

Jerry has said that he's not interested in a WR that hasn't been with the team. That may mean he's looking outside the club, going on Jerry's historical "truth-o-meter":D but i, personally think, we stay with what we have. Some have a Roy W fixation, but those people are gonna be dealt a full dose of reality in 14 days. No Roy, no Ocho, no Anquan, and yes, no Torry.

Say hello to Pat, Sam, Miles and Isiah. :)

That's very important. I would hate for the boys to stunt the growth of Austin and Hurd. I personally don't route for the "Star" or rings and banners I route for secondary players like Austin and Miles

Really come on, you put Holt on this team. barring injury it's game over we win. Who else here is tired of teams focusing all thier energy on Owens Witten and Barber, only to have Austin or Crayton occassionally come up big. Holt would dominate. As far as Hurd, after missing that onsides kick I am done with him

Wrong!! Hurd's a special part of our special teams units. Will RW or Torry Holt play special teams for us? NOT!! :bang2:

If there is a player who could possibly be acquired, this forum will discuss it. Yes, Roy Williams has been discussed MORE, but think about why. Because the media is speculating he is coming here and the fans follow media speculation to create talking points.

While I would prefer someone like Roy Williams, Holt is a perfect number 2. Hes a great deep threat and a better compliment to TO than Williams would be. Sure, hes older and we will probably only get 2-3 good years out of him (Maybe more if we are lucky), but right now I think we are good enough to be stocking up for a super bowl run. If we get a guy like him, we can just draft a receiver or two in early rounds next year for our future number 1.

So yeah, if we cant get RW, I would really like Holt

So if we got Holt, which current WR does not dress on the 53 man roster? Stanback I guess?? Or do we trade or release Standback, Austin or Hurd? This move will leave us short a specials team player...and I guarantee you, Holt or RW does not play special teams!!

Seriously? Didn't he recover a game-saving onside kick last year? I think the guy's pretty clutch... not talented, necessarily, but clutch.

As for Holt, well, it'd be cool to see, but I'd be a little hesitant about bringing in a receiver that old. Some may not agree, but I don't think you ever want to sell your future to "win now." Sometimes that sort of thing works out well (like T.O. and even Glenn), but the window closes quickly and we could end up with a has-been on our hands by the time he learns our playbook. That, to me, is why Roy is a more interesting player to trade for... but I'm not gonna hold my breath that it will happen, either.

Stanback has hardly progressed-that's not only playing WR, but even on ST he hasn't been playing all that either. Remember he was also part of the reason we gave 7 pts to the Eagles a couple of weeks ago-his muff near the goalline gave us bad field position that set up that play. Otherwise, we should have had starting position at the 30ish.
