This seemed to be the first time Taco was a consistent force out there. He was constantly moving the pocket and if Irving had been there it would have been 5+ sacks for the DL because the ends were collapsing but Carr was able to step up with no pressure from interior.

Maybe Taco is on the DLaw plan and in year 3 will be a beast. Incremental improvement each year.

I think JJ and JG want him to take over for Crawford next year. I don’t think we are there yet, but he was more active last night. We had a few chances to get sacks, but again we had none.

How about the fact that all it took was for him to get more reps and be on the field. These coaches are some of the worst talent evaluators. I will give them the Awuzie over Brown decision though.

I thought th3 front four were average st best last night......

they were stressed without mayowa. They usually have a set rotation and last night when they lost mayowa in the first quarter it made the three ends have to play more snaps.

I hope mayowa is ok going forward, he said he wasn't after the game.

You can't be right. He's a bust! I know this for a fact, because I read it here.

In fairness to the coaches, the times he was out there early in the year he was being pushed over like he was a DB. I think Ware, Lett and Haley working with him paid off in practice and he’s earned more time.
Developing a player, teaching him, letting him assimilate to the nfl, is something many don’t get
Throw a guy out there day one and in two weeks if he’s not tearing up the league he’s a bust
Taco was not my choice but some fans really think if a player isn’t ready day one he’s a bust and never consider some guys need to learn in order to contribute

He did nothing earlier on to warrant more playing time. He's better now because he's more comfortable and the game is coming to him.

What would be ideal is if Taco turns into a consistent LDE, DLAW is your RDE, and on passing situations we have a pass rushing specialist similar to Bruce Irvin, so DLAW swiches to LDE and pass rushing specialist plays RDE.

He's going to have to get stronger and learn more moves but we knew that before we drafted him.
You don't get to draft finished products who are the size of Taco unless you take Joey Bosa or Julius Peppers top 5.

I desperately want Taco to be more productive than Crawford and save us some cash down the road with TC’s contract. But we need to get a strong fat guy that commands double teams to move and run through or around. Our LBs will thank us and our other DLs will benefit.
