How about TSmith's blocking on Ryan Kerrigan?

huge rookie matchup won by OUR guy. Thought I'd bring it up as our oline is taking a deserved beating but isn't ALL bad...man this guy is special. A 20 yr. old man child...can't wait to see him next year at LEFT tackle. NOPE, I'm not slamming Free, but it's just the way it is...he'll be fine at right tackle. Smith is just........wow.

Why have them switch positions, especially mid season, when we could just chip the left side to help Free?

Having said that, if they are going to make a switch it will be after Detroit when we have the bye. Especially if Free struggles with Vanden Bosch, who is the kind of pass rusher he tends to struggle with.

Who's Ryan Kerrigan? :laugh2: OH! Wasn't he the OLB that was already crowned to be in the lead for DRPOTY?

You mean the same Kerrigan who is better than the guy who picked off Rex and the guy who sacked and stripped him to end the game?

Silly Commander fans.

I wouldn't make the switch until next year. Make do with it while Tyron gets a year of NFL playing time under his belt. Then give him an actual offseason to prepare for LT.

Then Doug Free can be a horribly overpaid RT.

It isn't happening this season, but probably next.

77 did a great job on Nancy Kerrigan, and he didnt even need a lead pipe....:D

Smith never played LT at USC.

I don''t think you switch him unless Free is injured.

Next year it probably makes sense as he is going to be a dominant pass blocker.

Free is a good LT but he has struggled the last two weeks after a good game against the Jets. I do wonder if he is injured after about 1.5 seasons of borderline Pro Bowl play.

Free just looks out of shape. He wasn't moving his feet out there.

No argument, Free was solid last year but Smith shows signs of being great. Free should be better at RT then he is at LT, so it's win-win.

.....he doesn't pass the eye test right now: looks like a guard trying to play tackle, and he did NOT look that way last year. HE was athletic, fast and efficient. NONE of those things this year: he looks soft and complacent and I hope it isn't because he got a big deal but.......

Tyron really looked good last night. He had a really good block of Jones' 29 yard run, too. Marc Colombo isn't nearly strong enough to make that block.

All hail, Tyron!

When Tyron Smith was blocking Kerrigan you didn't hear his name... Smith is going to be something special.

I just looked at Jones' 29 yard run, again. Tyron used his great, extremely quick feet and his power and just destroyed that Commander. That was one key block on that play. Tyron opened up that lane.
