We all knew the 2025 Cowboys defense was bad. But wow. How bad was it? Well we gave up the most points in Cowboys history with a grand total of 511 points. In a 17 game season that averages an even 30 points per game.

Some other low points:

• The 2025 Cowboys defense averaged giving up 2.15 POINTS PER SNAP! (EDIT: Some good fans here corrected my math - it was actually .46 points per snap- nearly a half point per snap. Still just awful)
• The 2025 Cowboys defense averaged giving up 33.5 POINTS PER GAME ON THE ROAD!
• The 2025 Cowboys gave up 30 or more 9 times this season including 3 games of 40+.

I know this off-season a lot will be said about resigning WR George Pickens or RB Javonte Williams. All I know is this was the worst defense in Cowboys history.

Don’t expect any improvement next year unless this organization gets dead serious about getting some more talent on defense and shows a willingness to get a defensive coordinator that can last more than one disasterous season.

The problem is exactly the chicken or the egg... you can hire the greatest DC in the land..he cant make that cast of players be good... Jimmy's and Joes is the problem...just look at Murray im sure he is not coached to be that bad...if Jerry fires Flus because "He is the problem" im not sure the problem will get solved...

You know Ice you may be right. It wouldn’t surprise me if JJ kept him. I mean that’s Jerry’s personal DC hire, not Schotty’s.

Plus Jerry hates to pay people that no longer work here. Firing Eber-disaster would mean JJ not only has to eat crow but also whatever is left on Eber’s contract. What a mess.

I'm more worried about the scheme. His scheme suck. Why waste another year proving it? Same with Schotty. Another aspect of the coaching staff that needs to be changed. Just my opinion of course.
