How can i find out if i have a DVD burner in my computer?

^^^^^^^^^^^^ how do i find out if i do? i have a gateway. and my disc drives on the actual computer tower say Dvd rom, compact disc, and compact disc rewriteable high speed. thanks.

which means it can read dvd's, but not burn them

otherwise it would say "dvd rewriteable" like the "cd rewriteable"

but, an easy solution is to take your dvd's and throw them into the fireplace if you want to burn them

Goto this page below and download the Nero Info tool and install it. It will give you all the info on your DVD drive. Good luck but DVD Rom does not "Sound like" a burner.

A DVD burner would be DVD-RAM, not DVD-ROM... you have a DVD player, and a CD burner, but not a DVD burner...

Not to worry, I recently bought an HP DVD burner, with the LightScribe feature that lets you "burn" labels on specially treated discs, from Tiger Direct for under 60 bucks... check it out, if you really want a DVD burner...
