This coaching staff is overrated and overpaid. But according to Jerry this is the best coaching staff he has EVER assembled. He was so 'afraid' to lose Jason Garrett that he gave him the richest contract in the history of the NFL for assistants. Jason Garrett is an AVERAGE nfl offensive coordinator. For the coin he is making he should be GREAT. At LEAST good....but he is average. I shudder to think what this team would look like if they did not have the 'talent' they do have on offense. Did this team just go out and score the fewest points of anyone else this weekend?
This OL is overrated and overpaid. So how is Jerry going to send a message? Who is he going to cut? Conventional wisdom has said OL get better with age. But is that true for offensive tackles? Flozell Adams will never be better than he has been....and LTs at his age will get worn down and injured as the season progresses. 4 out of the 5 OL are signed to expensive long term deals...this is your OL for the forseeable future!
Did our owner and GM tell us the guy to look out for this upcoming season is Tank Johnson? Was he our WORST DL? Think about that Cowboy nation...the man responsible for building this team made that statement after observing Tank all off-season. Again...does he have a clue?
The owner and GM witnessed Brad Johnson last year and all off season. And despite what he saw....he was convinced that "Brad gives us the best chance to win if Romo goes down for a period of time" Those were not my words....but the words of the person responsible for building this team.
The owner and GM of this team made Ken Hamlin our franchise player. Do I really need to expound on this. And go look up my thoughts of this signing at the time we did it. You can also go look up my thoughts of the Flozell extension at the time we did it.
The owner and GM of this team thinks chemistry is overrated. I guess since he owns the team he is entitled to his opinion. Meanwhile there is someone in the lockeroom who thought it would be a good idea to leak to the media that the WRs were meeting with the offensive coordinator to discuss ways to improve the offense. Which is clearly broken.
The owner and GM of this team said we "love that stuff", when discussing the media firestorm. "It brings out the best in us" "As long as they are talking about the Cowboys"....good or bad...the owner thinks this is a good thing. I guess he FORGOT to tell that to his best player and many of the highest paid players on the team...WHO DO NOT EVEN TALK TO THE MEDIA!
Just Friday the owner and GM of this team was waxing eloquently about entering into the new stadium with another Super Bowl trophy. Guess someone forgot to tell him they were not in the playoffs yet. Guess someone forgot to tell him they have not won a playoff game in forever. Guess someone forgot to tell him they were the most penalized team in the NFL. Guess someone forgot to tell him that the top NFL defensive minds in the NFL had figured his team out. But this is an owner that has a good read on this team he has built? Jerry for the love of God...stop talking about Super Bowls until we WIN A PLAYOFF GAME. For once..just once...try a new approach. YOU are the one constant since this team last won a playoff game...and since that time YOUR approach HAS NOT CHANGED. They do not GIVE Super Bowl trophies out....so until you at LEAST win a playoff game....knock it off will ya?
As long as Jerry is in charge...there will NEVER be a head coach in here that is REALLY a head coach. Wade has ZERO control of his QB. The QB coach is a "fan" of the QB....so the QB gets ZERO coaching. And this is still a young, immature, inexperienced QB that NEEDS COACHING!!!! Who on this staff has the guts to get in Romos face? Wade has limited control of his staff and how HE thinks the ENTIRE gameplan on offense/defense/special teams should be implemented. And that will be the case with any head coach that comes here and has to inherit Jason Garrett.
This same owner GM DEMOTED Tony Sparano in favor of Garrett. WHO HAD DONE NOTHING IN THE NFL...WHO HAD PROVED NOTHING IN THE NFL. So Jerry picked his guy...Parcells picked his...and we are home while the previously 1-15 Dolphins are in the playoffs.
Is Jerry the worst GM in the NFL? No! But he really can't send a message...because he ALREADY has. Every guy in there mother has been extended and paid well. This is the team we have...so stop waiting for Jerry to magically FIX this!
