How can so many 2nd rounders be this bad?

Diggs was never a shutdown corner. For every interception he got he gave up three big plays. Give me someone who is a solid corner and doesn't allow a 100 qbr over somebody who takes chances and gets burned most of the time.

I was never a fan of Demarcus lawrence. After that second contract he seemed to do just the bare minimum and was coincidentally hurt a lot like you said.

Those other second rounders are head cases, not very intelligent, or have an injury history or are a backup tight end. We treat the second round like it's the 7th for some reason.

This shouldnt even be considered a surpsrise but an expectation.


Btw #90 aka DFlaw aka HotBoy aka Slander never was a good player nor was he a pure 2nd rounder. We traded up to get him for our 2nd and 3rd.

He was one of the worst cancers this franchise sported. One of the players that instilled this losing culture. Business and Brand over all. No interesst in the sport itself.

Whatever you personal issues are with him, he was a steal and a damn good player.

It has gotten a bit extreme, but this is why you can't rely on the draft alone. Even 1st round picks come with about a 50% bust rate. By the time you get to round 2 you're doing really well if you hit on 1/3rd of your selections. Guys like Chido and Connor Williams are probably viewed as successful picks by many around the league as well. If you can get 50 starts out of a 2nd round player and a comp pick when they walk it fits the Jones draft formula.
 
Jerry would rather look for diamonds instead of the sure thing in front of him.

That’s what happens then it’s the GMs play round.

That’s the round Jerry proves he’s smarter than everyone else and drafts guys who are dumb, have character issues, or have an arrest warrant.

Do that for a decade. You have your answer.
