How can this team turn it around?

What can THIS team do to get on a roll with the coaches and players it has right now?

5 questions to help get you started...

1. What needs to be done from this coaching staff to get this team back on track in your opinion?

2. Who needs to be playing more or better and what should they do to improve?

3. What plays are you not seeing from the offense that should be called or called more often?

4. What can the defense do to stop these 4th quarter meltdowns?

5. What can this team do to improve on its penalties, turnovers, sacks or special teams performance?

No negative one liners please...thanks.

A few things:

1. Our defense played great the first three quarters. HOWEVER, our defense MUST, MUST create more turnovers and create consistent pressure. Newman needs to pull his head out of his behind sometimes and play the ball better. Hamlin just needs to stand there and yell at receivers when they're trying to make catches, pickup style.

2. If Romo gets more on target and our receivers start getting open, the offense will start to click, for sure.

Thanks for the input.

It looks to me like the defense starts to weaken in the 2nd half against the run especially up the the middle. Seems like it all started last season against Steelers and Ravens. Someone has to man the middle at all times. The secondary has been making good PB's and I like that, but I wish Campo would teach them to wrap up better as well. Losing Sensabaugh hurt us and it will continue until he gets back IMO.

I think being more creative on offense would do wonders and I thought that's what this 2 TE system would bring. Spreading it around should be our motto and not just going in thinking run or pass against certain teams.

Our defense played more than well enough to win today. They bascially shut out Denver the entire first half. The TD Denver scored was on the offense for turning the ball over at our 9 yard line. Then, the D gives us a turnover fairly deep in Denver territory to start the second half and the offense give it right back. Our defense pretty much kept Denver out of the end zone until the end of the game. They were on the field way too much in the second half because the offense couldn't convert. No way to blame the D for this loss.

Get a fast wr that can get open.Maybe Ogletree.
Get a QB that can actually handle the pressure.
Sit Spencer for his dumb play.

It sounds crazy, but maybe start Kitna. All he really needs to do is drive the bus, something Romo is incapable of doing. Just make fewer mistakes and more short and medium completions, and we could win more games.

Oh, and RUN THE FRIGGIN BALL MORE! Putting it in Romo's hands to win the game is sheer madness right now.

IMHO, the main thing that could be done (but won't be done) is to can Wade right now. The players aren't responding to his style, and won't. They know this is his last year. Jerry could send the team a message by telling them, via a coaching change, how urgent he views the current situation. For those of you who will respond saying that Jerry is the problem, don't bother. Everybody knows he isn't going anywhere. If you can't live with that, then you need to find a new team to root for.
That said, this team is what it is for the remainder of this season. As much as I would like to see Wade go, I realize getting rid of him mid-season makes no sense, either. Both the offensive and defensive schemes that are run are here to stay for the rest of the year. You don't just instantly change what you are by hiring a new coach.
This team is not nearly as bad as many make it out to be, talent-wise, they just need focus and direction.

Jon Kitna is a turnover machine.

If he had played today he would have been sacked at least 8 times and probably been picked repeatedly. He would inspire zero confidence, putting in kitna would instill panic in the locker room.

Putting in Kitna is the white flag on the season and maybe romo's career in Dallas.

If we ever see kitna taking snaps while romo is healthy, forget about the whole thing. From top to bottom it would be all over.

then we would be a team with cap issues, no qb and absolutely no one in the organization with the football intelligence to find a qb, which by the way maybe the toughest thing to do in all of sports.

Even the best coaches and scouts miss more than they hit on qb's.

Suggesting kitna play is the most foolish thing that can be brought up.

We didnt lose because of the qb. the team equally blew this game. Its the nature of this group, but at least for now it is a group that fights together.

Insert kitna and you break up the group and finish the whole thing off.

So unless your ready for quincy carter draftings in the second round and then inserting him in as the starter two weeks before the season, while the coaches are teaching him how to throw a spiral....literally....stop with the kitna crap, because that is the alternative.

Yeah that would've been great... Elvis would have broken the sack record today.
