How can we trade for NE's 2 1st rders?

Sorry SuperPunk but this is a trend, but usually not found on this board.

When you become a SB contender your draft choices go to the bottom. Now if it was the Oakland Raiders talking, then it would make sense to move up in the draft.

This is not what the Patriots do. Nor do the Boys.

OK, OK.

Be happy with our draft choices. Many at the bottom of the pile are great players in this league. But I sure would have been happy to get Bush. Yes indeed. Hey, you can have all our draft choices.

Well YoMick, help me out.

Why would I be jealous??? Then I could answer.

No offense, but you cannot be serious.

If I'm Dallas and all the receivers short of CJ are still on the board at #22 , I'm calling San Francisco . Right now San Francisco's #1 receiver is Arnaz Battle . They are also in desperate need of a good DT and DE . There should be value at that position with their first pick at #11 , but WR is a different story . CJ is gone , and #11 is probably too high for Ginn , Meachem , Bowe , or Jarrett . If they want a top receiver and don't want to reach for him , the middle of the first is where he will come from .

San Francisco has a 1st , 2nd , two 3rds , and four 4ths at their disposal . I'd be on the phone offering our first so that they could move up to select say Meachem . In return Dallas could ask for their 2nd #42 , their 3rd #76 , and their 4th #104 .

While Dallas would lose their shot at some of the top talent , there is still quite a bit left on the board at their need positions . WRs like S. Rice , A. Gonzales , and J. Hill should still be on the board . CBs like E. Wright , A. Ross , and J. Wilson will still be around . And with two 3rd round picks Dallas could possibly look to fill the backup NT position and then look to a QB or LB .

The draft seems far away, this is a harmless speculatory thread, made by a board young'un, I believe. (apologies to hendog if you're a 40 year old guy. ;))

I was just sayin', we can police our own and tell them they're out of their minds. If you were a Red Sox fan the response might have been funnier. We're all hoping the draft gets here fast and puts an end to the pointless speculation.

You are quite correct SuperPunk. Sometimes though things are said that well, you know.

USA Today does a player evaluation that I really like. They started today, position by position of the best players available. It is a good read.

But the one thing I have learned in football after 40 long years of watching.

1. A team chemistry is everything.

2. A good, or very good QB makes the over the top difference.

3. Coaching is critical. For example, were we a better team than San Diego last year - NOT.

4. Breaks, shakes, everything. Make the playoffs and anything can happen.

5. Do a few players make a difference. Yep. No question, the QB on top. And I am really sorry, but guys like Bush MAKE a difference.

So, how it will all come together, well, I do not know. Not a clue. Not even close to a clue. You make moves and changes and hope for the best. Will it work?? Maybe, maybe not.

The season is close to starting. How good is that. But it is all up for grabs. Those of us that have been watching football for years know that.

Oh I am serious.... quite serious... deep down no matter what the Pats do... they will never be the Dallas Cowboys. That bothers alot of Pats fans. They are constantly being told they won in a time of parody, no great challenges. They won with Tom Brady(who I really like) because the league is so watered down and level. Put the Pats against the Cowboys of the 90's in the SB. We probably blow the Pats out in 2 of 3 SB's if not all three SB's.

I dont have to be a Cowboy fans to inform you that... the Cowboys are just different. They are the NFL elite... even when they are bad... they draw more, there are more fans WORLDWIDE... not just nationwide.... it is what it is...

need more?

oh and... Jerry never had his SB ring taken from him by a Russian President :lmao2:

Well YoMick, I am sorry I came back on to check my stocks and looked in.

I'm sorry, I am not a jealous person. I loved the Pats at 1-15. Loved them. I will go to my grave as a Pats fan. I really do not care what the score is, how they won, or did not. A fan is a fan. So, I ask you jealous of what??

I also respect other great football fans. Who comes to mind??? Well, just about every team. I like the Bills. I like Kansas City. I like Denver. And you know what the San Diego fans are great. San Diego??? Yep, they are.

Green Bay, over the top great fans. Hey, I am in Florida most of the time, and I was shocked how the support is here for the Bucs. Great fans, can you believe it??? But true.

I do not make fun of teams, or their fans. Dog Pound OK with me.

Times have changed. Every team and their fans are important. The game is important.

It is the last great team sport we have.

And no, I am not a Red Sox fan. I am not a baseball fan. Oh, I hope my relatives do not see this. Die-hards, but not me, just football.

The only other team I really, really got excited about was the Chicago Bulls. Jordan, the Bulls. Me, a non-basketball fan watched every single game. I had a guy that sat behind me at the Pats games. He wanted to impress a women and we agreed, I would trade my seats for his seats for the Celtics. Jordan was playing.

Basketball strike -- over -- I never saw the guy. Bummed me out for a month.

But me, I sat for 30 years watching the Pats. Why?? I love the game, I love the team. Jealous??? Well, you get the idea. NOT.

:lmao: Hope your stocks are doing well... Kraft needs to replace that Ring that was taken from him

I have never, ever seen a trade proposed on a message board that came to fruition.

Never.

Most fans that post trade proposals over-inflate the values of their players, and assume that the GMs of "partners" are total idiots.

There are three ways we can trade for both of NE's first round picks.

1. Put a gun to their head and say, "either your signature goes here or your brains" (anyone ever see the Godfather?)

2. Get them totally smashed the night before the draft.

3. Replace their front office personnel with cyborg look-alikes...and preprogram them to accept any trade JJ has to offer. Of course, he'd probably still be taken by them.

I wouldn't trade for anything less than thirds and I'd prefer to just get second round picks.

If you got their 2008 first and second and this years second then I'd give them my 22. I'd have to have this year's second be high and 42 wouldn't do it for me. They'd have to sweeten the deal somehow. I'm not sure how I could live with picking around 53 for our first pick.
