I know we all have the rope out to hang Garrett..

But how much of this play is really on the players?

I think alot.

They start slow..

it's difficult to know if the players are using the coaches gameplan well..

Jones has pointed st the coaches to get it right but the players play a huge part in it.

Are they not mentally tough as Jimster says and Aikman implies with his inexperience?

How do you fix that?

Who has the right answer to this?

If this were his first team or some such, I would be more open to this line of thought but every team Garrett has coached has had this problem IMO.

My personal opinion, the question of "How Coachable is this team" is directly related to the question of "Do you want to get paid", IE, be a member of the Dallas Cowboys? If they can't be coached or they don't want to be coached, let them chase their dreams elsewhere. That is part of Coaching as well. Any way you slice it, this comes down to coaching IMO.

Cowboys have a lot of young talent, mixed with seasoned vets, and very coachable. Let a quality coach run this team and reach its full potential. We all know what’s holding this team back.

Change this archaic defensive philosophy as well. This team is a coaching staff away.

Every player and every coach has been replaced over time yet we get the same result. The only consistent piece is JG.

If a roster full of player all exhibit similar traits (i.e. Slow Start, not mentally tough, not executing game-plan, etc.), then either they draft/signed all players with those traits OR it's the coaching.

The probability that most or all players on 1 roster had similar traits when drafted is about a Billion to one.

If most or all players on a roster exhibit similar traits, then the probability that coaching is the root cause is about 99.99%.

I don't know if they're coachable or not but I have grown to dislike this team over the course of this season.

They strike me as gutless. Content with getting paid and looking good for the cameras. Over celebrating the good plays and laughing off the bad ones.

You can coach x's and o's but you can't coach attitude.

As Captain Ramsey indicated: You just stick a cattle prod up their *** and you can get a horse to deal cards.
th

Same applies to coaching you either have a disciplined team and fear and respect of the coach or you don't, that will determine how much a player will apply himself. Combine that with solid coaching techniques and game film study of your opponent and you give yourself an excellent chance of succeeding.

At least they are not doing that stupid group celebration, especially when losing, like Philly’s D did vs Seattle.
