Jones is a stud, and Collins will be fine eventually.

I think I enjoy Collins rook year more than Jones and feel confident Fletcher Cox and company will have their hands full with that left side of the line till he retires or is traded.

I think, Collins is just soo excited, he doesn't know what to do with his energy. I am thinking year 2, might be better, with an offseason.

These 2 are the least of our concerns. Collins will go on to be among the best at his position. Jones also looks very promising. If Gregory joins the party, the "draft class" is a smashing success.

This is really good from Byron considering he has played a lot at safety .

That ankle sprain really set Gregory back which sucked for him, because in the week 1 game he was always in Eli's face until he went down. As for Jones he's been very impressive and i liked him playing safety. Collins is inconsistent but that's to be expected, seeing him put Bobby Wagner on his *** shows the nastiness in this kid.

Jones should be int he mix for DROY award. He has played well at several different positions, which most rookies do not have to do. He has been outstanding.

Is the ranking accurate for B Jones considering he has played as much safety as CB? I wonder if this messes up the stats.

The eye test tells me Jones has had a solid year inside and an ok year when outside.

yup so one man's opinion. I despair people around here reaching that level critical thinking.

Consistency in ratings mean more to me than the actual rater's ratings. If I know somebody is an easy judge, than a good score means less because that judge always ranks favorably.

I don't see a problem in Collins' run blocking at all and while I don't dislike PFF, they are not beyond reproach.. Especially when it comes to O-Line play. For instance, a couple of years ago they were praising Free as the best tackle in the league, but were down on Tyron even though Tyron was getting no help and shutting down elite pass rushers game-after-game. They really need to use their ratings in conjunction with other metrics so they can better judge why things are working and not working.

These grades are and always will be misleading.

Marcus peters is clearly the best CB of the rookies, and Collins has clearly been the best guard.

I just think people don't understand what the rating is and what it means. It would be one thing if it was one person doing every player but there is no way it can be with all the players in the league. There might be 50 different guys doing the ratings all with their own opinions mixing and matching on any random play. You're right to want the statistic tied to something real on the football field because here it is not.

He's already a good player but I agree. I will take a guy that plays "too hard" over the guy that you have to motivate that's for sure.

I agreed, the kid has the energy and mean streak we like in an offensive linemen. If he works hard this offseason and gets stronger and comfortable in our system, he will have an awesome sophomore year.

anyone else confused by this chart? Why doesn't it show how many yards they've rushed for?

I took it from PFF and they frequently use different parameters to show their preference for talent exhibited by a player. I also think total yards would be interesting but not fully indicative of said talent.
I sometimes during the season lose sight of what the other rooks are doing as my focus is so cowboys this seems to give me a glimpse of either how bad my mock drafts were(normally the case) or how spot on. Melvin Gordon never hit my radar so I mentally smile when I see confirming data.
Gurley is the real stud in this group as most knew coming into the draft, I barely remember Rawls talent only his off field incidents.
