How come no one is talking about Free?

Read the thread. It's already here.

so your going to make a big deal out of one missed play?

Why not make a thread on leonard davis, he has been getting beat plenty the past month and got beat one on one by gholston today for a sack.

Romo got hurt tackling Hall after he picked up a fumble on a run play that gained 4 yards on 2nd and 2 going in Free's direction.

Did you watch the game?

ah yes an revised my post - did you take the time to read it

Thought he looked good today except for one play. Needed some help out there, nothing major. Was concerned about him getting bull rushed, but he handled it pretty well. Really didn't feel like we missed Colombo per say.

He didnt do anything worth crying about. He played a good game.

The fans of our team wait for the players to make a mistake and then they never let them forget it and label them with it forever.

Yep, see Mike Jenkins.

Free played very good. I saw him miss one play, a run play.

He can do it. The Commanders ends are good.

That was a big positive.

I think the Cowboys have hit on Free.

They need to let him lead some sweeps and let Felix Jones run them.

You're being silly. I read what you initially wrote thoroughly and replied to it accordingly.

Let me clarify my opinion of Free. He might be a serviceable solution at RT but any celebration today is a bit premature.

I'd celebrate that he wasn't Rob Pettitti or Torin Tucker out there.

Not even Corey Proctor.

Given our OL history I'll take it, I don't think he played bad at all.

Jenkins deserves Pro Bowl consideration.

He needs a couple more INTs, especially in a nationally televised game - another pick 6 could help seal it for him.

No doubt.

The simple fact Doug Free got on the field at all is an improvement over some of our recent offensive line draft selections.

Free wasn't perfect, but he's young and should only get better.

We've had a nice run of finding talent in the 4th round.

Except Skyler Green and that bust CB from Georgia in the Parcells era.

James, Barber, Canty, Choice, Free.

Doug Freak is going to be a nice LT.

I posted an article about doug free on who is doug free. I like doug free, dont get me wrong, but he is just starting to play now, and really hasnt gotten his feet wet yet. I am sure that greg ellis is going to school him on some things thurday.

Then, you have to think and realize when we play the giants, and chargers, their defensive line and linebackers are going to really test doug free. If he can hold up adequately, I think we will do allright, but going to be a big test for doug.

yep, doug "freak" free is kinda like bradie james was his first couple of years in dallas. I think free will be ok, if given time.

He got a ton of help. I hope we don't have to continue using a TE or RB as much in future games. Romo was having a terrible time and I couldn't understand why we only threw 2 passes to RBs. The RBs were limited due to having to cover for Free but it is no excuse they didn't have more passes thrown to them.

Get FJ the ball in space for heaven's sake!!

7 points. No positives to be drawn from this win.

We must rue.

There is always a positive. I agree Free had himself a nice game, even with the few mishaps that he had.
Another positive and the main one is that we got the W!!!
We know that we have a tough little QB, that is another positive.
I can name positives all night.

You may be able to name positives all night....

But you suck at detecting sarcasm.

Free, aside from the missed block on the 3rd and short running play, did nothing to stand out, which is largely a good thing.

I'm amazed that someone who has been in an NFL strength training program for two years can be as physically weak as he is at the point of attack. This will be a hindering factor for him long term if Dallas keeps the same offensive system. He would probably fit better in a zone blocking scheme than a man on man scheme.

I thought Free played really well today.

He doesn't really drive guys as well as Columbo on run plays but he still gets his guy blocked none the less.

The 3rd and 2 was bad because he got beat inside on a play that was going to his backside. No excuse for that.

But for his 1st NFL start I was extremely encouraged with him.
